Higbee or Hooper?

Postby PigeonBoys » Mon Jun 08, 2020 8:51 pm

Got a trade offer to give Higbee for Hooper straight up. Not crazy about Hooper but maybe a slight upgrade? I feel like Hooper at 25 gives me possibly more stability long term than Higbee but would y’all take this?

I like Hooper more. Maybe it was the system, but Hooper has elite upside.

Both will be good plays this year but I think Hooper has the greater upside especially as LAR keep hyping up Everett and want him to get more involved.

Also CLE paid Hooper $44m or something like that so they are going to use him no matter what just so they get their monies worth!

I actually love Higbee , he was talked up when drafted and was finally fed the ball . Leading reciever the last 5 weeks of the season and looked studly doing it. Everett isn't getting resigned , no cooks I'm taking the boom or bust approach over Hooper

Higbee for me. Dominant down the stretch last year and expect a sizable drop for Hooper.

Eeehh pick em. Hooper is good but lots of mouths to feed on that team (OBJ, Landry, Hunt, occasionally Chubb and Njoku is there) Browns are probably a run 1st team more than last year. Higbee is possibly the 4th/5th target on his team too (Kupp, Woods, Akers or Henderson and battles Everett). Everett is due to be a FA in 2021 but they drafted Hopkins.

Interesting

I have never thought of Hooper as an "elite upside" kind of guy. In fact, he seems to be a safe play type. Higbee has far more elite upside in my opinion. Also more bust potential.

Higbee was just a flash in the pan for a desperate Rams team looking for answers after an awful offensive year

I would be shocked if he is even startable this season.

This thought I’d what makes me feel like I’m at a sell high point with Higbee. I mean he wasn’t even the #1 TE on his own team to start last year. I just fear his end of year production was a byproduct of the system they were running at the end of the year. Mcvay keeps on saying they were a mess offensively last year so kinda hard to predict what they’ll do. Now with Cooks gone do those vacated targets go to Higbee and he’ll assume third in the pecking order?

Rams don't think so, they gave him a 4 year contract with 15 mil guaranteed.

Higbee will be worth his value at his current ADP. Granted after Kittle, Kelce. Ertz and Andrews anyone can finish 5 and up lol

I guess it's possible; but to me, the Rams are still a WR first passing attack and that doesn't change because of a few games at the end of last year--nor do I think Higbee is so talented that they would adjust the scheme around him. I would sooner expect Josh Reynolds or even Van Jefferson to be the number 3 option.I did not know he got paid though. That adds an interesting wrinkle for sure.

They also paid Odell $90 Mil, but look how that's turned out so far.

There are too many mouths to feed in Cleveland and I don't know how many more seasons the "Baker Breakout" train is going to last before people give up on him. Maybe I'm wrong and the whole offense looks better this year, but it's hard to argue the Hooper will receive as many targets as Higbee when you look at how Higbee broke out and how crowded the browns offense is. Remember talent AND opportunity equal success.
