Mattison or Dillon

Postby Zacsby » Thu May 28, 2020 8:23 pm

A little torn on this one. Was trying to acquire Mattison before my rookie draft with no luck. End up snatching AJ Dillon with the pick I was offering for him. Surveying things post draft and I realize Mattison owner also owns Aaron Jones. Thinking maybe he'll be more interested in a swap now. But should I?

Pretty similar situations for these guys. Both probably have a better chance to replace the current starters in 21 than most backups. On one hand we've already seen Mattison flash nice upside on an NFL field. But Dillon's athletic profile is kinda nuts and I think GB bringing Jones back seems less likely than Minnesota bringing Cook back. Don't know as much about Minnesota's situation though.

All insight/thoughts appreciated!

I like both but Mattison might see starter reps earlier than Dillon

I lean Dillon because I agree I think it's way more likely Cook is in Minny longterm than it is Jones stays in GB. Dillon seems like he was hand-picked by MLF too for his "new style" of offense..

I'll take the chalk here and say that unless I have Cook I would prefer Dillon.

mattison strikes me as a career backup. part of commitee at best if cook leaves, but it seems they want to extend his contract.
dillon was drafted in the second round by a guy who didn't draft the other two RBs who are FAs next year...
known middle of the pack commodity vs. an unknown with more upside.

This 100% depends on whether or not you have Cook.

I think Dillon has a better shot at taking over starting duties next year and is therefor the better standalone option, but I don't feel strongly enough about him to want him over Mattison as a Cook owner.

I take Dillon. As others have echoed I think Cook gets extended before any of the GB RB's. With both of them im not expecting much this year, however Dillon has the chance to be the guy moving foward.
