Time to Go ALL IN?

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Time to Go ALL IN?

Postby ParLawGod » Tue May 26, 2020 9:13 am

In one of my leagues, I had a roster of aging talent and few draft picks. I've spent the last couple months dealing older guys (David Johnson, Melvin Gordon, TY Hilton, amongst others) and trying to get younger overall. I ended up with a roster that I really like...honestly better than I was expecting...here are my main pieces.

QB: Jones/Garoppolo/Love
RB: Sanders/Singletary/Hunt
WR: Hopkins/Moore/M. Jones/Watkins/Ross/JJAW/Jackson <EDIT>Unforuntately I have Marv Jones</EDIT>
TE: Ertz/Goedert/Gesicki/Rudolph

<EDIT> 1QB, PPR, 12 team league </EDIT>

I also have two 2021 1sts and one 2022 first. Two of those I got from a team that will very likely finish last (trust me on that one), so without a doubt two will be very high picks.

My question...is this the point I trade the three firsts for proven talent and go all in? I'm fairly certain I could get a RB like Cook (he's available right now), then flip Singletary for a better WR3. Or sit tight with what I have and continue to build with a younger roster?

Thanks for the honest advice! Appreciate it very much.

Note: I am aware that Jones/Garoppolo have the same bye week...currently looking to get another QB (or even upgrade at the position in general, though I can't/won't overpay).

I would hold the picks here and keep adding to your core next year.

Thanks! I added the league settings (1QB, PPR, 12 team). Oh, and no TE premium. One 2021 first will be very early, and one will likely be late. 2022 first could be early...team is pretty void of talent, but one can never be too sure.

Tough spot. Solid team but not sure it's deep enough that pushing all-in makes sense. I'd rather take another year to get stronger. And that means Julio should probably go.

You need to add your 2020 picks... unless you dont have any. I think you are still rebuilding and need help at QB, RB, WR. I would certainly sell Ertz and Jones (Assuming its Marvin, but if Julio i would sell as well). Im also not completely sold on Singletary in Buff. Would really like to know what those 2020 picks are.... I hope you have a first :)

Also, if you could get a Kings Ransom for Nuk i would possibly think about that. if you look out 2-3 years he will then be 30.

I'd be okay with dealing future picks for another RB. I like the guys you have there, but depth is important at that spot, and one more solid producer would really put you in contender status IMO. I'd try and hang on to that project early first tough if you could.

Your team looks solid, but I think I'd rather have all of the 1st's right now. If you deal all the picks, just say for Cook and he plays poorly, and a injury and your team is getting another year older and no picks to replenish your roster. I'd hold for now, if your going well during the season then revisit the issue.

You’re in a great position for future moves. Selling a couple more players in season for 2021 draft capital will make a retool short. If you go all in now, the margin for error is extremely slim as mentioned in the previous post. Hold tight to those picks for now. One wrong move could put you into a longer rebuild.
