I've made too many trades to remember them all, but my best rebuild job is on an orphan I took over in 2017 offseason during the draft.

12 team, 1QB, PPR

When I took it over, the team had no 2017 picks and my best 2 players were Andy Dalton and Pierre Garcon. The rest of the roster was guys who had retired, were out of the league, or on their way out. It's the worst team I've ever seen. I had no picks, but was given the opportunity to pick up anyone I wanted from the free agent pool once the league completed the rookie draft. Some of the notables I got were Mahomes, Alex Collins, Chris Carson, Cooper Kupp and probably some others I'm forgetting. I picked up like 15+ rookies and 2nd year players as dart throws.

I was able to cash in a lot of these players for picks, or players who I then turned into picks, and build a decent stockpile. I kind of regret trading Mahomes, but I ended up basically getting 2 1's and a 2 for him in a string of trades, so it wasn't too bad, and I'm still good at QB today.

My roster now 3 years after taking the team over

QB: Lamar, Josh Allen, Baker
RB: Saquon, Jacobs, Guice, Kerryon
WR: Chark, Gallup, N'Keal Harry, Darius Slayton, Preston Williams
TE: Hunter Henry, Fant, Goedert
'20 picks: 1.01, 2.04, 3.04

So I feel I'm a title contender this year with an RB group of Barkley, Jacobs and Taylor/CEH (undecided who I'm taking yet) to go along with strong QB and TE play. My WRs could use a little more boost, but they are good enough on a team as strong as mine, and are all young so they could take a step forward this year. Overall happy with where I'm at, and far better than I thought I would be in year 3 when I took this team over.

I had a very good team that won a couple of titles in the early & mid 2010s in a 12 team 1 QB 0.5 ppr league. It featured Peyton Manning with the Broncos, Eddie Lacy, Calvin Johnson, Jimmy Graham with the Saints, LeSean McCoy, DeAngelo Williams.

They all pretty much died at about the same time. I had been using my late firsts and flash in the pans to trade for good veterans, keeping the team in playoff contention, but finally gave in & started a complete rebuild about three years ago. Some key moves:

Traded away Dez Bryant for two firsts to the league champ. One first became Calvin Ridley, the second became the 1.02 last year as his team collapsed. I didn't like my options at 1.02, so I traded that for his 2020 first, which became 1.01 this year, where I drafted CLH.

On the clock at 2.01 last year, I traded the pick to the previous year's champ for his 2020 first. He selected Devin Singletary (not bad), but his pick became this year's 1.05, where I drafted Jerry Jeudy.

I now have a young core of:

Wentz
Barkley, CLH, Montgomery, Marlon Mack
Godwin, Diggs, Christian Kirk, Jeudy, Lamb, Slayton, Anthony Miller
Hunter Henry

Made the playoffs last year, looking like I'll be back this year. Have two firsts in 2021 also.
Not all that counts can be counted. Not all that can be counted counts.

I'm on my 2nd one now, both have been considerable rebuilds. I'm proud of both, one hasn't reached the promise land yet but I'm really excited about it's future and it's light years ahead of where it was two years ago.

First one started in 2012 and I won the championship in 2017 and 2018. Although I was a top contender since 2015 I detailed it in the following post....viewtopic.php?f=5&t=153262&p=1378836#p1378836

I am in the midst of the second rebuild now...
Over the past 2 years I turned an aging team into the one below...I flipped Brees, Ajayi, Gronk, Kelce, McCoy, Crabtree, Alex Smith, D Lewis, Dez, M Lynch and 2019 2.02, 2.12, 3.02 & a 2020 2nd for R Wilson, Baldwin, T Coleman, S Michel, 2019 1.4, 1.06, 1.11, 1.12 and a mid 2020 1st(all in different trades). Picked in 2019 draft Sanders, Harry, Metcalf, AJB, Fant, P Campbell and traded for DJM. I then moved Coleman + Barber for a 2021 1st.

My grade is incomplete until I finish this 2020 draft and see what my haul is, but I have the 1.01/1.04/2.11/2.12 and two 2021 1sts and two 2020 2nds....I’m feeling good about making the playoffs this year and being a strong contender in 21

1st and only rebuild. Team 2. Taken over after week 3 of 2018. A little more detail in real time in this thread. Made plenty of moves since but didn't detail them all.
viewtopic.php?f=6&t=171401

QB: Brady and Fitztragic
RB: Bell, Howard, Drake, McCoy, Ingram, Gio, Gore, Ivory, Booker, Kelly
WR: Keenan Allen, Woods, Fuller, Crabtree, Jordy, Dez, Doctson, Sanu, Albert Wilson
TE: Reed, Cook, Doyle

After Keepers, before draft 2020
QB: Dak, Ryan, Minshew, Cam
RB: CMC, Jacobs, Hunt, Penny, J. Jackson
WR: DJM, Chark, Hardman, Mike Will, Diontae, Parris, C. Davis, Lazard
TE: Andrews, Henry, Gesicki
2020: 1.07, 1.09, 2.05
2021: 1, 1, 2, 3

Basically flipped everyone and anyone for value where I could. Looking back, I lost value trading away Ingram that season he was still in NO (traded him and Howard for Baker) and I guess Drake (traded him for M. Williams and a 2nd) as he finally got his opportunity late last year. But it's a 2QB league and I actually have QB now. Got CMC and Aaron Jones on very cheap deals.

Does anyone read this stuff? It's hard to process some of it. Tons of info and I get lost in the explanations. Maybe I'm just old.

I'm rebuilding now. In a contract league, I swapped:

Julio Jones (1)
George Kittle (1)
2021 2nd
2021 3rd

-- FOR --

Cooper (3)
Fant (3)
Jalen Reagor (4)
Darius Slayton (4)
Aaron Rodgers (4)
Player TBD (4)

=======================

This wasn't 1 trade. It was a series of trades and waiting for people to get desperate during the draft. Lots of add-ons and throw-ins when I traded back that resulted in tons of extra pieces I used to either move up later or draft extra players with.

Pretty proud of it, actually. After this season both Julio & Kittle would be gone anyway. Now I have 6 players on my team for 3-4 years. Feels good.

Yeah might pick up another league in a year or so and have 3 total. My 1st dynasty league is Team 1. Did the startup draft and I believe this season will be #7. So 6 years in that league and going on the 3rd in the other where I took over for a guy after 3 weeks of him doing nothing for that roster lol

Oh and yeah I loved the rebuild process. It's funny the emotional bond you get to some of your players you draft or trade for. When I took over that team though it was as if I was determined to trade them all away... Which I did lol I've loved building picks and can't wait for our offline draft to start this weekend. Having 3 fairly early picks (and 2 1sts for next year) should be a nice boost to the squad
