Gronk trade in SF -- with a caveat

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Gronk trade in SF -- with a caveat

Postby Hankybro21 » Fri May 22, 2020 7:03 am

This is a two part question. Woke up to this for Team 2.

Give: Gronk
Get: 2021 2 (late) + 2020 pick #24

I think the value is probably good, especially since I have several TEs. The caveat is that for 2020 I need to drop the number of players that I have picks. As of now, I need to clear out one more roster spot this year and then I'm no longer in a roster crunch. This trade would not clear out a roster spot since I'd be moving a player and getting back a 2020 a pick. If I can't clear out one more roster spot before the year begins, Parris Campbell would likely get cut, which I'm trying to avoid.

So, part 2...in addition to "do I make this trade", where do people Parris in this class in SF? Worst comes to worst I can maybe draft him again at 24 but risk losing him. Thoughts?

Why would Campbell be the cut? I'd easily cut Hollister.... I'd also easily cut Darwin.... and Butler..... and Isabella.... and is that Antonio Brown I see there? Is this up to date?

I'd make the trade and drop Hollister. SEA signed Olsen, is getting Dissly back and drafted two rookie TEs.

Edit: Didn't see AB. Drop him.

Yea it's up to date. I have 29 on my roster so I need to cut to 28 and then drop 7 more for my 7 picks. So I need 8 drops to get down to 21 players, then draft 7 to get back to our 28 size limit. Current drops:

3. Isabella
4. Butler
5. Darwin
6. Hollister

You don't need seven picks with that small of a roster. Have you tried consolidating a couple of them? Maybe trade two or three to move up?

I'd use them to upgrade at positions then. TE stands out to me. I'd package players/picks for Kittle or Andrews, with your team looking like it's competitive, I'd even go after someone like Kelce if you can't get Kittle or Andrews.

I would make the Gronk deal. That's really solid value.

Do you have to carry a kicker? I know Justin Tucker is considered a “high end” starter, but Parris Campbell is more valuable than any drop off you’ll see at kicker.

for sure take the deal, its too good to pass up. I agree on trying to make a move for top end players using multiple draft picks as well.
