I guess the alternative is he's just not that good.

I don't know if that's true. Revis may have been past his prime but Sammy abused him 1 on 1 for a couple games.

It's fluff to recount in detail how he is batsh*t crazy? It might affect your dedication to your craft

Not exactly. He said he used to go out and drink and smoke each night. That would explain why he underachieved as one of the best WR prospects of the last decade.

Watkins partied "every night"—yes, "every night," he repeats—turning downtown Buffalo's Chippewa Street into his own personal frat party. Beer, liquor...Watkins didn't discriminate in lighting his $12.8 million signing bonus on fire with friends who followed him north. "Living fast," he calls it, holding up a pretend blunt. Yeah, he smoked plenty too.

He treated his body terribly.

"I would go out and get wasted," he says. "Wasted wasted."

Then he'd wake up, go to practice and suffer the consequences. Along the way, his body deteriorated. When he thinks back on it, he admits now: Those injuries were largely a result of his own behavior.

His attitude deteriorated too. As other receivers in his class became stars—OBJ turning early success into full-fledged celebrity—Watkins' irritation and isolation grew. In October of his second season, he demanded the ball 10 times a game and said the front office was making itself look bad by not force-feeding him.
Celebratory boozing would give way to self-loathing boozing at home. More of a numbing. Watkins would retreat to the basement, drink alone until 4 a.m., sleep two hours and wake up at 6 a.m. to do it all over again.

So, why fret? He stares ahead for a moment and then casually drops a bombshell: We all die constantly without ever knowing it. Wait...what? He chuckles. It's simple, really. Sleep is not just sleep. Dreams are not just dreams. Watkins believes we enter another dimension where, he explains, some humans have mastered the ability to manifest outcomes into the physical world. Watkins? He's getting there. He knows all NFL games are actually played the night before in dreams. On the eve of January's AFC championship, he says he told his wife that he'd have exactly 114 yards. He let that number sink in, repeated it aloud, dozed off and dreamt of catching the same pass on the same route he did a year ago against New England, only, this time, without tripping over himself.

He hit the 114 mark. The play clinched a win. Such is the astral realm.

A lesser talent with these same delusions, demons, and self-destructive behavior becomes ASJ. Watkins was so good he still has put together an okay career because his talent was that much

And too much is the current AB situation. This sounds like undiagnosed mental illness. Maybe he is keeping it at bay for now but just wait

Maybe in art more than sports. Drinking and smoking every night, is going to ruin you a lot quicker in the latter.

Well, that’s more stupid than crazy. I was more referring to his dying every night theory.

Apparently he liked to frequent dry night (17 and under) quite often, too. He also had quite the harem of high school girls, allegedly. Interesting character. I liked the part where he said McDermott had negative energy, AKA trying to get him committed to the team.
