Re: Let’s settle it: CEH or JT
KC is the better situation. If JT landed in KC he would be consensus 1.1, and we wouldn't even be talking about it. Reid's history + Mahomes = fire. I do agree with you, however, that JT's landing spot is really good still.Hottoddies wrote: ↑Thu May 07, 2020 7:34 pmThere's no doubt about CEH landing in a great situation. Not to imply that Edwards-Helaire lacks talent or ability, but situation is largely pumping up so much of his value right now. Granted, new information allows us to adjust, and CEH going into a optimal landing spot definitely helps him out. But, is he really a better player than Taylor, or many of the RBs going behind him? I don't know about that.
Long-term, I think Taylor is the better fantasy asset.

I tried to trade back in a Superflex from 1.01 to 1.02 or even 1.03. Trading back is hard, particular ly within the same tier.

Re: Let’s settle it: CEH or JT
I was offered a shot at drafting CEH if I threw in a 2021 1st to boot. For that price I'll just settle on getting Dobbins, thank you.

Re: Let’s settle it: CEH or JT
I’m trying to think through how this went down. Maybe the top 10 were Saquon, McCaffery, Kamara, Elliot, Mahomes, Jackson, Thomas, Kyler, Watson, and Cook? People passing on WRs, concerned by Mixon’s reported holdout? Or maybe Mixon and Hopkins are in there and Kyler and Watson aren’t? That’s essentially their 1QB ADP.

People here were talking about Taylor as the 1.01 before we knew which team he'd be playing for. You'll have to search long and hard for a big group of people who were promoting CEH as a Tier 1 rookie pre-draft.Hottoddies wrote: ↑Thu May 07, 2020 7:34 pmThere's no doubt about CEH landing in a great situation. I agree that both landed in good spots, but Taylor's merely feels like icing on the cake for most. CEH's is a rocket strapped to his back. Take that rocket off and things would be drastically different.

Re: Let’s settle it: CEH or JT
I had JT 1.01 pre NFL draft, and CEH at 5, but in the same tier. My main concern with CEH was not skill set, but how the NFL would view him. I also knew my main concern with JT was his ability to create on his own, and the fact although he can catch, that he wouldn't be asked to do it a lot at the NFL level. After the NFL draft, it was clear the NFL viewed CEH as a lead back. Taylor went to a system that fit his style, and an OL that will not force him to create on his own, specifically behind the LOS, which I don't think he is good at. However it is also a system that seems to like a 3rd down specific back. They are basically neck and neck for me due to situation and skill sets to the systems they are in.Cameron Giles wrote: ↑Tue May 12, 2020 9:31 amPeople here were talking about Taylor as the 1.01 before we knew which team he'd be playing for. The reality is, we are not pro scouts, and we misvalue players sometimes compared to the NFL. Kelvin Harmon for example. There were some saying CEH would be a backup at the NFL pre NFL draft. It would be a mistake for those who were not that high on CEH to view him in the same light they did pre draft. Personally I love his game, but I thought he may be a 3rd round pick and a committee back. Clearly my concerns on that were not valid. I have moved him up to the top part of the tier I had previously had him in the bottom of.

Re: Let’s settle it: CEH or JT
Predraft rankings don't mean much to me. Draft capital is the #1 predictor of NFL success, so I don't see the point of ignoring that piece of the puzzle in favor of predraft rankings. CEH was the top RB selected in the draft to the best offense in the league, so that is good enough for me. Taylor has been overvalued in fantasy circles relative to the NFL's view of him, so the pre-draft fantasy scout consensus opinion on him should be taken with a grain of salt.Cameron Giles wrote: ↑Tue May 12, 2020 9:31 amPeople here were talking about Taylor as the 1.01 before we knew which team he'd be playing for.
