Keshawn Vaughn

Postby honcho55 » Fri May 01, 2020 2:35 pm

I think this guy deserves a thread!

Why? I only looked at one online sports book but guess who is 5th in the offensive ROY odds? Ahead of all the WRs, Dobbins, Swift, and Herbert.

On a talent level I’m not saying he’s anywhere near guys like Taylor, Swift, dobbins, CEH, but he looked like a solid runner to me. I think he’s gonna have a decent career.

It doesn’t hurt that he’s stepping in to a team with Brady and a pile of weapons at WR/TE, and no real RB competition (imo)

Discuss!
main league, half PPR, all TDs 6, -3 for INT
12 team. 2019 champ, 2020 runner up, ‘21 3rd
start 2SF, 2RB, 2WR, 1TE, 2WRT

QB: T Lawrence, K Cousins, R Wilson, Z Wilson
RB: K Walker, T Ettiene, JK Dobbins, D Gore, J Hasty, D Johnson, L Rountree
WR: JJ, AJB, A Cooper, Juju, C Kirk, J Dotson, N Westbrook-Ikhine, I McKenzie
TE. T Kelce, Pitts, Albert O, D Parham, J O’Shaunessy

He's gone 10th and 12th overall in my 2 12 team SF rookie drafts so far.

PFF has him as their 6th rated rookie...

Those odds for ROY are based on his short term outlook with only Ronald Jones ahead of him. No one is drafting Vaughn ahead of Dobbins or Swift in dynasty.

That being said, I'd have no issue taking Vaughn mid 2nd after the top 5 RB based on this short term opportunity. His position reminds me of Singletary last year

And yet...Singletary owners can probably get a first for the guy even following the drafting of Moss.

I’ve seen similar, part of why I made a thread. 15th overall and 11th overall.

The 11th was a trade for my pick that I couldn’t turn down

Well, sure it’s short term, literally just this year.

I had anticipated getting invested in Vaughn all over for mid 2nds. He hasn’t been there. Sportsbooks see something, PFF sees something too? Interesting.

I wouldn’t say “sportsbooks” everywhere I checked just now had him outside the top 10.

Vaughn's fantasy rise and situation reminds me of Royce Freeman's a couple seasons ago. Not comparing the players at all, just their fantasy situations post NFL draft. Decent talent that gets drafted into a perceived golden situation. Going to get overdrafted due to this.

I like Vaughn, but not at this new price around 1.10 or so.

This is about where I’m at.

Ah yeah like I said in OP, only checked one. Anyways that was only one reason I thought he deserved a thread.

Also you never know what they are up to, maybe teasing out bets on him when they really think he’s a long shot, etc.

Damn, beat me to the Royce Freeman comparison! He is going to go in the top 10 in a bunch of leagues and places where I have 1.10-2.1 I will be thrilled that someone more talented will drop to me!

Vaughn is one of the worst prospects I've scouted in the past 10 years. He's in the same tier with RoJo and DH. I have zero hope for his future.

Am I missing something with this guy? Passes the eye test to me, good enough measurables. 26 RBs off the board in my startup and taking a long hard look at him soon...
