Mack is still young and will likely not get a new contract from the Colts after this season, so next year at this time he'll be on a new team. He may have a chance to be a starter.

I'd put his value at a mid to late second as you have to wait a year for payoff. If I owned him, I wouldn't sell for a late second though.

I see the highest value as late 2nd for Mack. Not many average RBs move on to another team and have success after their rookie contract. Your best hope for him is JT flops or gets hurt.

Might as well throw Drew Lock in there >_>
I think that his value is probably too high right now to be considered a buy low. I can't see an owner trading him after they added 2 nice weapons to go along with Fant/Sutton. Don't forget MG3 as well

Agreed. I said Carr because he's going for dirt cheap, or was.

He will be a top FA at the position. Guys like Tevin Coleman got a 2nd shot, Mack will get one. He's a guy you need to wait a year on. He's not elite, but I think he's above average.

Yeah I've never been a huge fan of him, but even I'm intrigued now

I agree he will get another shot somewhere, but I don't see him being more than a backup or split carry guy the rest of his career. If he is above average, it's slightly above.

Justice Hill- his competition could be described as 2 two-down backs and a rookie facing limited/no offseason work.

I think he'll be more like TJ Yeldon. An exciting name in fantasy circles, but a backup or lesser side of a committee type player in the NFL.

This isn't like Coleman or Ingram who were valuable pieces of the team that they just didn't want to pay vet money to extend. There is a difference between guys like that and guys like Mack whom they actively went out and tried to replace while he was still under contract because they didn't believe he was starter material.

I'm confused a little regarding the negative sentiment Mack.

He's run for 4.7 and 4.4 ypc last few years, pretty good TD numbers for having missed a few games. I haven't seen a ton of him outside of Jets games, but looks pretty good with the ball in his hands. Agile enough to make people miss and strong enough to break tackles.

Receiving production pretty bad, but I'm not a PPR guy and there's a place in the NFL for what he brings on 1st and 2nd downs, short yardage and goal line.

This is the last year of his contract. I think that's why the Colts "actively went out and tried to replace while he was still under contract". Plus they had a stud RB staring at them when they were ready to pick...

I think Mack will get another shot. Bare minimum as a valuable part of a committee, and he might even surprise and get a lead role...

The strange thing about the Colts' usage of Mack is that his best asset coming into the league was his work as a pass-catcher. They barely thew him a ball last year. Now the Colts may well just give those balls to Hines again, but they were open about being too predictable according to which RB was in there last year so it is possible that Mack gets more play as a receiver now he's likely ceding the lion's share of the carries to Taylor.

I am not trying to nitpick because I agree that he has looked really well behind that OL when he is healthy and I was surprised at the pick but to the bolded they traded up to pick JT and he didn't fall into their lap and was too hard to pass up. I think that is a big difference.
