Huge Zeke Trade!

Postby krtbuckeye » Tue Mar 31, 2020 1:10 pm

Zeke owner has made this offer. I have tried to construct my team by balancing present competitiveness with future considerations as well.

Thoughts?

I give: Jacobs, AJ Brown, 1st Lottery (4 team lotto, odds on 1.02)
I get: Zeke, Tyler Boyd, 2nd Lottery (4 team lotto, odds on 2.01

Zeke is the best and safest piece especially in a ten team league. The early 1st is a tough loss, but you look like a legit contender. Add Zeke.

I may be in the minority here but I like the Jacobs side. Jacobs is only going into his second year and is 22 years old. Brown has a ton of upside and if the pick is 1.02 you could get a guy like Swift.

So basically I'm looking at it like:
Jacobs and Swift=Zeke
AJ Brown > Boyd and 2.01
10 Team .5 PPR 1 QB League

QB: Goff, Brady, Herbert, Tannehill
RB: CEH, JT, Akers, Dobbins, Mixon
WR: Adams, Godwin, McLaurin, Lamb, Chark, Claypool, Pittman, Diontae, Anderson
TE: Andrews, Goedert

Picks:
2021: 4 1sts, 1 2nd
2022: 1 1st, 2 2nds

I'd personally go Jacobs + AJB + early 1st. Zeke is safer, but the upside in the other part is too much for me to pass up. Admittedly I am very high on AJB, like Jacobs a good bit, and am a gambler. So, I'd love taking the shot at 1.02 in the lottery, but even 1.04 or whatever it ends up is fine with this rookie class also.

Jacobs slightly less than Zeke
AJB potential to be a legit alpha WR
Any auxiliary WR in the league is at danger of losing targets to the incoming WR class, sell Boyd.

i usually agree with this logic, but there's too much going on here to pass imo. Id rather play RB with depth at the position when the quality of players this team has is already so high

I'd pass. Zeke scares me and I moved on from his last season. I know he isn't that old but the mileage, decline of their offensive line, and introduction of more balance in the offense are all scary to me. Plus he is a moron off the field and is one bad decision away from a lengthy suspension. The latter half of that statement is true for every player of course but he has shown the behavior pattern to this point that it is more likely with him than others. Will he be a good RB to have over the next 3-4 years? sure. But I'm not sold he will be a top 2-3 RB for that entire span and I'm not willing to pony up the cost it takes to get him with those concerns.

I like Jacobs, think AJ Brown will regress and disappoint this coming year but is a strong dynasty asset moving forward, and that is a premium pick. I am also not much of a Boyd fan but I know a lot are and him being included carries some water in the overall value of the trade but I think he is a JAG that benefited from extraordinary circumstances last year to get a huge target share. He isn't waiver wire material but not a guy I am targeting anywhere.

I think Jacobs + 1 of those two other assets is more palatable. He obviously wont accept that based on his offer so move along and just enjoy the pieces you have. If this was 2-3 years ago and Zeke was coming off that rookie season, sure pull the trigger on this type of trade.

I'm taking the Jacobs side. I like Jacobs a lot and I love AJB, throwing the 1.02 in and this is a pretty easy choice for me.

Zeke is tempting, but youth at RB and stud WRs keeps your contention window open longer.
