IDP Startup Strategy Question

I joined a IDP startup league. And though I have played IDP in the past, it has been several years ago. I, therefore, am seeking some general guidance as to the order that I should be drafting each position. (Not looking for what players to draft. Looking for some guidance as to which order I should draft each of the positions.)

Lineup includes: 1qb, 2rb, 3wr, 1te, 1rb/wr/te, 3db, 3dl, 3lb (cb, s, de, dt)

There are two separate drafts:

Draft 1: Veterans + Rookie Picks
Draft 2: Rookie Picks (4 Rds.)

(Kickers in the veteran draft are place holders for rookie picks. All kickers will be dropped at the end of the veteran draft and rookie picks will be awarded in the order that kickers were selected. 1st kicker selected is 1.01, 2nd kicker selected 1.02, etc.)

Totals 40: 18 Starters, 22 Bench, +3 IR

14 team draft

Here is what I am thinking as far as selection order at least for the opening rounds:
QB, RB, LB, WR, WR, K, LB, DB, DL, TE, WR, K, REPEAT (If Top 14 RB are all gone by end of rd 2, grab a K)

Is this order of selection ok, or should I be considering another order?

The scoring requirements look pretty even for offense and defense, but you start similar numbers. Not sure I’d go qb first round, but would consider elite idp’ers in the early rounds

I would leave Kickers out of that rotation. Just get whatever is left at the end of the draft.

There are only 2 QBs I would take in the first round, otherwise I wouldn't take a QB until I have 4 elite players at other positions. If other owners start a run on QBs, you snap up stud WRs, and RBs as fast as you can.

Given the longer productive careers of elite WRs, I would target a young stud at that position in Round 1. Maybe one of the top 2 RBs depending on draft position. If Kelce or Kittle is available, jump one of them in Round 2 or 3.

I would definitely look to grab an elite LB, preferably MLB, in the first 4 rounds. Second priority for me on the defensive side would be one of the handful of elite DEs, then a run-stopping SS.

Above all, don't get so locked in to your planned positional rotation that you pass on an elite talent at one position to grab a middle of the road guy at another position.
