Kareem Hunt
Re: Kareem Hunt
I would love for one of the teams with a pick at the bottom of round 2 take a shot at Hunt, less to lose than a high round 2 pick. On the field he is a top 5-10 complete RB and looked great this past season, proven investment vs a rookie that you are not sure of.
Seattle has 2 picks at the bottom of round 2. They are win now and maybe concerned about Carson and Penny being/staying healthy.
KC- I know it will never happen but it would be the best fit and make for a great story and all kinds of talk.
Miami and Atlanta are also RB needy teams with later 2nd round picks.

Re: Kareem Hunt
It’s just unrealistic to think a team will sign Hunt to a contract and then turn over a 2nd pick to the Browns. For example, Miles Sanders was drafted in 2nd round (53rd overall pick) last year and the Eagles have him for 4 years for a total of only around $5.3 million for the duration of the contract. So why would a team go after Hunt, they would have to pay him a whole lot more than what they would for a rookie. I know Hunt has proven he can play at the NFL level, but it’s just a horrible move financially for any team to pursue Hunt.
Re: Kareem Hunt
Miami has 39th overall, which is the one they would have to trade unless they came to a separate agreement with the Browns. And the Falcons are EXTREMELY tight against the cap, they aren't paying a high amount on a risky vet, when they can get a younger cost controlled rookie without the off-field concerns.dmac37 wrote: ↑Tue Mar 17, 2020 5:38 pm I would love for one of the teams with a pick at the bottom of round 2 take a shot at Hunt, less to lose than a high round 2 pick. Hunt is not getting signed by any team that has to give up a 2 for him, they might be willing to make a different deal with the Browns for a lower amount though. Browns are ultimately gonna keep him and let him walk next year for a compensatory pick.

Re: Kareem Hunt
Spot on, it isn’t happening. As soon as they put that tag on him we all should have known he wasn’t going anywhere. That’s also why Chubb’s stock dropped immediately (albeit only slightly), because all the dynasty owners knew he was in a significant timeshare for one more year.usps33 wrote: ↑Tue Mar 17, 2020 7:27 pm It’s just unrealistic to think a team will sign Hunt to a contract and then turn over a 2nd pick to the Browns. chubb's rushing attempts per game:

targets:

not a catastrophic drop, and stefanski might bump the numbers back up.

That's because the one thing they did right last year was have Chubb & Hunt on the field at the same time quite often. I'd believe they would be used the same way again this year.killer_of_giants wrote: ↑Wed Mar 18, 2020 7:31 am chubb's rushing attempts per game:

Re: Kareem Hunt
Deadline for teams to make offers to Restricted Free Agents has now passed, he's locked into returning to the Browns now unless they trade him.
No surprise here that no team went after him.

Re: Kareem Hunt
New coaching staff. That will all get thrown out the window. I will say a postive for Chubb was that Stefanski ran a lot of RB screens on first and 2nd down in Minnesota, so I am cautiously optimistic about Chubb's receiving this season, compared to after Hunt returned last year. Hunt will obviously be used, but I think Chubb's outlook with Stefanski is much more positive than under Kitchens.djeternal2 wrote: ↑Wed Mar 18, 2020 7:47 amThat's because the one thing they did right last year was have Chubb & Hunt on the field at the same time quite often. It's still one more reason for teams not to invest in him. It may not net him a suspension now, but it absolutely hurts his options with the amount of teams willing to sign him to a future contract, and the amount they are willing to pay him.Johnny B.
