Cameron Giles wrote: Sat Feb 15, 2020 5:54 am Unfortunately, there's no market for an expensive RB, coming off his worst season, and being in his late 20s....unless you attach draft compensation, which is probably out of the question.

I think it's about a 95% chance he is in Arizona next season. And if he's healthy, he can win his job back.
Rumours that Drake is going to stay. Hearing the tag is even in play. If that's the case, they are going to feature him. He was terrific down the stretch last year. I think it will be an uphill battle. DJ hasn't looked good as a runner in years.
That's going to be a massive amount of money spent on the RB position if they use the FT on Drake, they are financially tied to DJ unless they can find a way to trade that untradable contract.
Could you see a scenario where a team like Dolphins make a Oswieler move on DJ ?

Would the Cardinals be that keen to get off that contract.
He could be a leader in that locker room with alot of young guys.

Browns gave up a 2nd to get rid of Brock. I can't imagine Arizona doing that. I don't understand the Cardinals plan here. Franchising an RB who isn't elite while having an overpaid one on the roster doesn't make much sense. Just draft an RB.

Arizona went from the #23 offense in the league pre-Drake trade to the #12 offense in the league post-Drake. They improved drastically in points, yards, and rushing yards.

Granted a big part of that was surely a rookie QB and rookie coach getting settled in, but the offense was clicking a lot better with Drake in there than DJ.

Franchising Drake alongside DJ's contract would be a lot of money invested in the RB position, but just for one year. That's a lot different than having a lot of money tied up in long term deals like Carolina did with JStew/DeAngelo.

Spending a lot at the RB position for 1 year isn't nearly as big a deal, especially when you consider that Arizona is pretty flush with cap space (9th most in the league). There are some surprising teams in the top 5 of cap space spent on the RB position last year including San Francisco and New England. And I bet most people probably don't even remember that the Texans had the most money invested in RBs last year or that the Bills had the most the year before. A bunch of money at the position that disappears in a year, alongside a team with lots of cap space, isn't that outlandish.

Doubt he wants to be a cheerleader at this stage of his career. Most competitive football players would want to play.

For me, i would still be concerned about Duke Johnson and how that time share works out. Ultimate winner looks to be Drake from my seat.

Bill O'Brien probably the worst GM in league history. They've given us so much draft capital already, and now bringing on this big money for a RB.

You do not buy. You sell. I would target any late first or early second and hope someone pounces on the hype.

Nuk involved too, basically DJ + 2 for Nuk. I would like to remove the "probably" from my previous statement. BOB is trash.

Damn how much does this hurt Deshauns value? Maybe they're after Amari? They have to be after someone right? Maybe not, maybe Bill O'Brien really is just an absolute dunce. Lol
