Give 1.05 for kyler and 2.02?

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Give 1.05 for kyler and 2.02?

Sounds crazy I know.....but I'm kicking around the idea since QB is my biggest hole. 1.04 should still yield me one of the big RBs...

I struggle with this. I feel like the quick "massive overpay" statements are sometimes using a redraft mindset. There is nobody on the wire. How else do you acquire a qb if that's your missing link? Streaming isnt a dynasty viable option.

You have Mayfield and Goff. Who cares if nobody is on the wire. You have 2 viable options in Dynasty. Kyler isn't worth that in a 1 QB league where you have 2 starters. You're giving up a premium rookie pick for a 3rd QB (and a coin flip rookie pick) that may or may not be a slight upgrade.

its not a bad trade if you prefer murray over burrow...…he should be there. any other situation, this is a no go.

as mentioned by ff..the value just isn't there in this trade. your 1.5 is worth a lot more than any qb for the most part. do not pull the trigger here.

im all for getting "your guy" but this trade is not something i'd consider based off upgrading qb?

I think you are in good shape at QB based on the format. I would hold the pick. Getting your guy is always great, but this is a steep price in my opinion.

I’m about as strong a proponent of being strong at QB as you will find on this forum(even in 1QB), And, I’m liking what I see with Kyler so far

Still way too much though. There should be better deals. If not, I like Goff and mayfield both to rebound, and it’s not impossible you get awesome results just playing matchups with those two

If you really want a qb upgrade that bad you can probably get Watson, Russell or Lamar for a fairly similar price tag

I’d easily take another top RB over kyler and whoever you’d get at 2.2.

I drafted Murray at 1.08 in a 1QB league last year, so I see this as 1.05 for a mid/late 1st + 2.02, which is pretty fair. Personally, I think there's a chance Murray could be valued in that Mahomes/Jackson tier by this time next year. I'd make this trade given the fact that you already have a strong roster ready to contend and can still take a RB/WR at 1.04.

There's a chance, but not a great one IMO. I just don't see this as a good move for the OP. I think taking Kyler at 1.08 was over drafting him, though. I think he's a good player, but certainly not to that level in this format. He's not in the discussion of being in the same tier as Mahomes for me. Lamar has risk because of the way he runs so much, so I don't have him in the same tier as Mahomes, but Kyler is nowhere near Mahomes as a player at this point. Kyler is in a tier with quite a few other QB's like Dak, Wentz etc., and I don't think he's going to be so much better than guys like that to justify giving away one of the top 3 RB"s in this class, or the top 2 WR's. There are some really good prospects in this class, and I don't think this is a move that makes a team better in a 1 QB league, when he already has decent young QB's on his roster.

I don't think Murray is anywhere near Mahomes as a QB. However, Murray is in a pass-friendly system and has thus far added far more rushing production. He showed decent accuracy and QB play overall despite a bad offensive line and no real receivers outside of an injured Kirk and an aging Fitzgerald. Murray is a downgrade as a passer from Mahomes and a downgrade as a runner from Jackson, but put those together and you get a potentially elite fantasy QB.

My argument is that if Murray can put up a top-8 fantasy year as a rookie, if ARI gets some line help and weapons (or have Isabella develop into an all-around weapon like Hill's early years in KC), Murray can absolutely be valued as a top fantasy QB around 1.01 like Mahomes and Jackson currently are. I agree that this move isn't necessary in a 1QB since OP already has Mayfield (who I like to bounce back as well), but this is more of a valuation play. Though this would be buying somewhat high on Murray, best-case scenario Murray is worth the 2021 1.01. Worst-case scenario, Murray is still worth a mid/late 2021 1st even if he has just a decent repeat top-10 fantasy finish in 2020.
