McLaurin price?

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

McLaurin price?

Postby Mephistopheles » Sat Feb 08, 2020 9:41 am

Have a guy who wants to buy McLaurin from me.

I quoted him an early- to -mid-1st, but he has 1.7 and 1.11 so I told him both picks.

He wants to pay a 2nd so it's a moot point as to whether the trade will go through. Just double checking if I should stick to my guns on this.

Mid 1st. He showed a ton of potential.

I think I'd take 1.07, or 1.11 + a 2nd. If you can get both, that'd be a fantastic deal

1.07 and a 2nd seems like a good compromise. I’d say that and if the other owner says no then tell him to kick rocks. If they came to you, ask what you want

I’d agree he’s worth an early mid 1st so 1.7 and an early 2nd sounds fair

Don’t let these guys steer you wrong!!! Scary Terry is worth both those picks easily and IMO worth more. I’d want a top 5 pick to even get the conversation started. You hope the guys you get sniff 1000 yards in their rookie year.

Hard pass on all deals.

This if non-SF. I would sell for a late 1st in QB premium leagues.

No. Washington was a dumpster fire this year. Terry showed out but will have competition. These are the types of guys I like to sell high on in the offseason.

Your valuation is spot on. I value McLaurin around a mid 1st similar to guys like Deebo and Metcalf. His counter of a 2nd is ridiculous.

I wouldn't pay the 1.07 and 1.11, but definitely wouldn't sell for just a 2nd. Sounds like a deal isn't going to be made here.

He only wants to pay a 2nd? I'd just ignore him for the rest of the year.

That's the plan. I already told him there's no common ground here and no reason to go forward.
Unfortunately that's a lot of owners' idea of "negotiating". Set the price artificially low ("stupid low" as another forum contributor put it) and don't move. It's really haggling and arguing over value, not negotiating, which I absolutely loathe because there's no right answer to the argument.
