Devante Parker value

Postby megager » Mon Jan 27, 2020 12:05 pm

Hi again.
Wonder how would you value Parker in this class.
This time last year I'd have considered him a low second but was last year a true breakout or a flash in the pan..
Would you accept the 2020 1.10?

I would take the 1.10 for Parker. I'm not sold on last year based on his other four seasons. I would value him around a mid 2nd.

Reality is that Parker is "tainted" due to his long breakout. Even if he's worth the 1.10 or a little more to you, other owners will value the pick more highly as it has less bad history - a more moveable future piece.

So i'd take the pick, but Parker really did show great stuff this year.

1.10

parker got 128 targets and was healthy for all 16 games. second highest target total on the team was gesicki with 89. 2nd highest for a WR was preston williams who played only 8 games and had 60 targets. the leading rusher on the team was partial season starting QB ryan fitzpatrick and partial season starting RB mark walton whith a whopping 243 yards and 201 yards respectively.

so basically parker got an insane volume due to lack of other options. if they add anyone in run game or pass game hes surely gonna take a production hit in a big way. he was a first round talent tho and no doubt played well in 2019 so i dont wanna totally discredit his performance but i would not want to pass up on first round picks in hopes that he will get that volume again and that he figured it all out in year 5 and is now a great player.

Not a big fan of the draft depth in 2020. At the back end of the 1st rd you're looking @ Shenault / Reagor types unless you like one of the QBs. Personally I think Parker has the potential for a couple of years of wr2 production if his fragile health issues doesn't rear it's ugly head.

Last year Parker is worth well more than 1.10, but as someone who got burned for 4 years with Parker, I am not buying him at that price.
Dynasty player since 2002.
I probably should have done something more productive with that time...

I like Parker, but it's definitely understandable why people would be down on him after a big year. Breakout years at 27 years old are kinda suspect and doesn't scream sustainability. I would probably take the pick here, but I would also understand why someone would want to hold Parker
