Kelce 2020 value.

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Kelce 2020 value.

Postby Kmani6 » Fri Jan 10, 2020 8:18 pm

Kelce had another great season, especially with Mahomes getting hurt in the middle of it. His TD regression (10 to 5) makes sense, since Mahomes threw half the TDs he did in 2019. Other then that, his receptions and yardage totals were the 2nd highest in his career with 97 and 1229 respectively. Most importantly he still finished TE 1, and put up equivalent points to the WR 6 on the year. However, Kelce will be 31 next year, and sooner or later his production or value simply based on age will decline. Now seems the right time to sell him for max value for my team, considering I have Kittle as well. What is Kelce’s value in your leagues? For me, it seem he’s slightly undervalued across the board since no rebuilding team is touching him, and many competing teams could already have other solid TE’s (Waller, Ertz, Henry, Kittle, Engram, Hooper).
Dynasty Team 1:

10 Man, Full PPR, .2 PPC, Double Flex

QB: Kyler Murray
RB: Saquon Barkley , Breece Hall, Swift, Dobbins, Gibson, CEH
WR: Devante Adams, Tyreek Hill, Jamarr Chase, DK Metcalf, Devonta Smith, Jerry Jeudy
TE: Travis Kelce

2023 Picks: 1.4, 1.8, 2.9, 3.2, 3.6, 3.8

Dynasty Team 2:

10 Man, Half PPR, Double Flex

QB: Tua
RB: Barkley , Mixon, Javonte, Jacobs, CEH
WR: AJB, Tyreek, Lamb, Aiyuk, Bateman
TE: Kittle

2022 Picks: 1.5, 1.6, 2.3
2023 Picks: 2 x 1st, 2 x 2nd

In general terms I’d just ride him out in a ten man. He’s more valuable on your roster than what you’d get back for him, I would wager.

He’s startable in the flex, and deprives other teams of an elite TE
main league, half PPR, all TDs 6, -3 for INT
12 team. 2019 champ, 2020 runner up, ‘21 3rd
start 2SF, 2RB, 2WR, 1TE, 2WRT

QB: T Lawrence, K Cousins, R Wilson, Z Wilson
RB: K Walker, T Ettiene, JK Dobbins, D Gore, J Hasty, D Johnson, L Rountree
WR: JJ, AJB, A Cooper, Juju, C Kirk, J Dotson, N Westbrook-Ikhine, I McKenzie
TE. T Kelce, Pitts, Albert O, D Parham, J O’Shaunessy

1.03, 1.11, 2.02, 2.09

I still see him as an early to mid 1st in value. Maybe not the smartest dynasty buy, but stats dont lie and he is a monster. A 2020 1st and future 1st would be a nice return. To a contender, Kelce is gold and productive TEs are so hard to find. Especially with you owning one of the few other great TEs.

Damnn lots of great advice all around. I agree riding him out might be the move. I may be looking at an offer of Mclaurin and a 21 1st, which I would say is the equivalent of 2 1st. What do others think?

For reference, I dealt him prior to our deadline (I wasn't likely to compete for a championship and ultimately missed the playoffs)

Gave: T. Kelce, 2020 2.05
Got: E. Engram, C. Kirk

Hope that helps

I don't think that's enough unless the 2021 1st is projected to be early, but it's not a terrible offer.

id look for a proven asset or 2. mclaurin and a 2021 1st do absolutely nothing right now and the rest of the offseason. you own travis Kelce....gotta be something better out there

I would hold unless you are completely blowing up your roster.
