Seattle's RB situation

Postby jman3134 » Mon Dec 23, 2019 12:44 pm

How do you think they fill the void? Marshawn Lynch is being brought in and special teamer Travis Homer will try to carry some of the load.

Xavier Turner is on the PS. Maybe someone could pick up CFL RB William Stanback? Or I am not sure how that works because he might still be under contract.

Who cares, the season is over and Carson and Penny will be back next year, Penny might miss a little time early though.

The RB who gets signed (barring Beast Mode) is likely going to use this as his showcase. Might give us a flyer or two to consider in the offseason if Alex Collins shows out.

Carson might miss 2020 he has a fractured hip. Depending on if there is an displacement he could be out 12 plus months.

Penny likely back in September/October but this backfield has massive questions.

Woah, I heard done for this season but this is the first report I'm seeing of it knocking him out a full year. Do you have a source?

This is massive for my Penny stocks.

I thought hip injuries could take a full year depending on severity. I'm no doctor and idk how bad Carson's is. I'm just recalling Pitta's injury history

Nothing definitive yet because we don’t know the severity but it has been confirmed as a fracture this has been retweeted by a couple relevant people.

However it’s a waiting game it could be bad he might be back. Either way a fractured hip (confirmed by schefty) is serious.

My guess is they sign Lynch, and possibly Ajayi who was just released by Philly with the return of Jordan Howard.

Both cases will obviously depend on how their physicals go. But I think these are the two most likely options with what's left out there. I would not be interested at all in Turbin, or CJA.

Have to think they will address rb in the off-season. Rbs coming back to full strength after an ACL injury seems to take two years and penny is likely out a majority if not all of the preseason. If Carson is out for a year, Seattle needs to address rb. Last two weeks have shown that right now, if they don't control the game on the ground, it's hard for them to play.

I think even if Penny is good to go week 1, they will bring someone else in. They hate Penny after all

Maybe they poach some practice squad rbs and we see if any have the juice. Great opportunity to earn some legit playing time if you make a lasting impression, even if they likely go RB in the mid draft.

Beast mode is obviously a stop gap situation so it is doubtful there are major fantasy ramifications, but what about other candidates?

Bummed as a fan of the team, and at this point, I'd think the Hawks have two games left. Maybe three if they get Philly.

With injuries along the line, on defense, and now no RB's with any experience on the team it's not likely they make a deep run this year. Frankly, I'm not looking forward to Football Night in America. San Fran will probably roll the Hawks in Prime Time.

I'm fine with Lynch. But Turbin doesn't bring anything Marshawn doesn't have (even at this point of his career). Somewhat of a redundant signing. I would rather they'd have taken a look at Ajayi who as least has some speed, assuming his knee is still OK.

But what can you do really when you have to sign two guys off the street prior to Week 17?
