Barkley vs Cook+

Postby Slackalacker » Thu Nov 28, 2019 1:44 am

Team 2 in sig

I’m in the midst of a heavy rebuild and trying to sell Cook high. I am not (and wasn’t intending on) competing this year and my only few wins have come at the hands of Cook go figure. I received the following offer from the Barkley owner.

Give: Cook, Christian Kirk, Preston Williams
Get: Barkley, Agholor

I don’t value agholor as anything so basically it’s Barkley for those 3 pieces. In a start 2RB/3WR/2FLEX league is it worth giving up Cook and solid depth for Barkley? I may try and ask for something better than Agholor like a 2nd or even 3rd but I’m more concerned on if anyone would take the deal as is?

For reference my best offer for Cook has been Guice and 2/3/4/5 round picks. I offered him for Sutton and the likely 1.4 and was rejected

Basically Barkley for Cook.

Barkley here. Would require something more significant added to Cook to consider this as a Barkley owner so take this and run if I were you.

Disagree with the above poster, Kirk has looked good and I also like what I've seen from Preston. Cook is in a position to be very productive for many years with the team around him and teams are honing in on Saquon. If you're rebuilding, I say keep the 3 talented pieces
Team 1:
10 team, .5 ppr, 30 man roster - 2 QB, 3 RB, 3 WR, 2 TE, 1 W/R Flex
QB: Brees, Cousins,Winston, Foles, Finley
WR: Julio, Hilton, Edelman Woods, Landry, M. Williams, A. Robinson, Harmon, Meyers, Butler
RB: Gurley, D. Cook, Mack Lindsay, Mixon, Hines, Jon. Williams
TE: Hooper, Everett, Eifert, Irv, I. Thomas

Team 2:
10 team, .5 ppr, 45 man roster, 1QB, 3 RB, 5 WR, 2 TE 1 W/R/T flex, 1 SF, 1 DT, 2 DE, 3 LB, 2 CB, 2 S, 1 DEF Flex
QB:Brady, Darnold Goff, Foles, Finley
WR: Godwin, Edelman, Kirk, Hilton, Landry, J. Brown A. Miller, MVS, Cobb, AB, Harmon
RB:Gurley, D. Freeman, A. Jones Sanders, Jon. Williams, L. Miller, Ajayi, K. Hunt
TE:Waller, Rudolph Graham, Fells
DT:Phillips
DE:Campbell, R. Quinnp
LB:Leonard, Deion Jones, Barrett, R. Evans/b]
CB:L. Ryan, Jenkins
S:D. James, Simmonsr

I would take the three solid pieces in a full rebuild. Any other type if build, I would take Barkley.

I just traded for kirk so i don't see him as jag. I like cook alot too and pwill is a big money lotto ticket. Barkley had the highest % of runs stuffed for no gain last year as talented as he is, so I'd say that offense needs major help. The three pieces can only gain value but Barkley can realistically only lose value.

I'd take Barkley and sell him a few weeks into next year.

Cooks side. The way he’s played this year brought him a lot closer to Barkley’s value IMO and the gap is less than Kirk so it’s a win in my book to get Cooks and Kirk

What do you mean basically Barkley for Cook , What about the 2 WR1's on their teams ? , Fitz is gone next year Kirk is going to be a very good WR and Parker might be gone next year , before Preston got hurt he was playing pretty good on a bad team.

Trying not to be biased as a Cook owner, but this year is what we expected from Cook and I see no reason he won't continue this level of production going forward. His value shouldn't be far behind Barkley at this point, and the difference isn't those two WRs either way.

if im not competing like you mentioned i take barkley very easily.

barkely is 1.5 years younger and has nowhere near the injury histoy of cook.

dont be short sighted cuz barkley rolled his ankle and played on a bad team riddled with injury this season.

Kirk and Williams aren't random pieces but my point is, if I want arguably the #1 dynasty asset in Barkley those 2 players aren't the sort of players that would make a huge difference to my position.
TEAM 1
Dynasty PPR 1QB (12 Team League)

QB - Murray, Fields, Pickett, Howell.
RB - Gibbs, R. White, Swift, Javonte Williams, Charbonnet, Allegier, Tank Bigsby, Penny.

TE - Ferguson, Mayer, Knox.
DEF - Bills, Vikings.

Rookie Picks: 1.02, 2.02, 3.02, 4.02 and 5.02.

TEAM 2

QB - Prescott, Pickett, Ridder, Mariota, Mullins, Willis.

WR - Adams, Higgins, Watson, Meyers, Gabe Davis, W. Robinson, Dotson, Raymond, ARob.
TE - McBride, H. Henry, B. Jordan, Bates, B. Hopkins.

Rookie Picks: 2.14 and 3.14.

Barkley>Cook
but not by kirk and williams

Barkley's still #1 or 2 to most people (was 2 and still is 2 to me) but cook is getting into that tier now and has to be a top 6 RB in a mini grouping of him and Chubb or in the mid to back end of the top tier of RBs. If the Bark owner is coming to me i wouldn't add more than a late first or early 2nd . if I'm going to the barkley owner that's a different animal
