If this means that he will sign with a team in the offseason to be their clear starter... then maybe (see below).

If it means that he starts games in 2020... then yeah I think he probably will.

I feel like he actually has a lot of pathways to "starting games" but not necessarily being "the starter":
  • If the Titans are really happy with him and I could easily see them signing him to an extension, but still drafting a QB in the first round.
  • I could see him being signed by one of the many franchises that will be near the top of the draft to be "the starter" until they spend their first round round pick on a QB.
  • I could see a franchise sign Tannehill and also trade for a QB that "disappointed" in 2019 (Trubisky, Rosen, Dalton, Winston, etc).
  • Lastly he could initially find a cold market but then sign to be a backup somewhere that could lead to playing time (wherever Newton lands, Pittsburgh, Philly, etc).
All that covers near half the NFL, so I bet we see him start games in 2020.

Yup. He is serviceable especially with that run game and defense
QB - DWatson(HOU)Minshew(JAX)Darnold(NYJ)

WR -DHopkins(ARI)ACooper(DAL)CGodwin(TB)OBJ(CLE)

I agree with this.

The Titans have looked good with Tannehil as starter. Either they will keep him as a bridge, or some other QB needy team will. I wouldn't be surprised if there are several teams that shift their QBs around.

I'm switching my answer from "he will start games" to "he will be a starter".

Obviously a lot of season left but so far, he's probably played his way into more game time in TEN.

He walked into a much better situation than he's ever been in and props to him for elevating his game.

He's the QB#2 (not a QB2, THE QB2) since he took over as starter from a fantasy perspective. It has been a softer schedule, but he's 4-1 in the last 5 games. Hard to believe that if he finishes the year out at 500 that he won't at least be given a shot next year.

Tannehill is playing at an elite NFL level. He is completing 72.1% of his passes with 114 QBR.

He may not throw it as much as many but the reality is his 9.2 average leads the league. Mahomes is 2nd at 8.7.

He is earning a fat new contract and this team is complete control of their destiny to win the division. He will be their lock starter for the next several years at this rate but he is going to have to prove it through his body of work over the rest of the season. He looks like a perfect fit in that offense since becoming the starter.

He is only 31 which isn't old by QB standards.

If he does keep playing at this level for the season, it will be an interesting commentary on how a bad team can ruin what could be a good QB.

And of course a testament to how awful Miami is.

Tanny instantly improves on a new team. Drake goes to Arizona and becomes the starter. As a deranged DParker owner this gives me hope 🙏

He’s lighting up bad defenses, but he’s shown he has some potential. His YPA looks nice, but he’s benefitting from the same YAC that Mariota was. Tannehill’s issue was always downfield accuracy, so as long as he’s not asked to bring his team back from behind he’ll be fine.

Any link to where you are seeing that he's THE QB2 since he took over? Curious because while that is a great mark for him it's also a huge nail in the coffin imo for Corey Davis since he's gone 14 for 176 over that same stretch.

Look at the QB scoring stats on whatever platform you play fantasy on and just filter on the last 5 weeks...technically Matthew Stafford is just ahead of Tannehill in PPG over the last 5 weeks, but Stafford has been out so we can go with QB2.

Three rushing TDs over that period have helped and Tannehill has never really been effective at hitting anyone that isn’t primarily an underneath target.
