DJ Moore

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

DJ Moore

Postby C3l3ryMan » Wed Nov 27, 2019 8:46 am

I'm trying to price check DJ Moore with owner in my league. I'm 10-2 with a bye locked up. I was hoping to make this somewhat lateral move to "gain" 4 years of youth at WR. He offered the following:

Give: Kenny G, 2020 1st (guaranteed to be 9-12)

Get: DJ Moore, Marvin Jones

I offered him Kenny and a 2020 2nd (late) for DJ and he wasn't interested. Is the above fair? I really don't have interest in a soon to be 30 year old flex and a late 1st seems steep.
12 Team 0.5 PPR (1QB, 2 RB, 2 WR, 1 TE, 2 FLEX)
QB: Wilson, Herbert
RB: Bijan, Chubb, Swift, K. Herbert, Jamaal Williams, Jaylen Warren, Tucker, Breida, Mitchell, D'Ernest Johnson
WR: AJ Brown, Godwin, Kirk, Dotson, Diontae Johnson, Wan'Dale, Pierce, Metchie, Demario Douglas
TE: Kelce, Everett, Ferguson
Picks: All future picks

DJM > Golladay (would be >> for me if full pt PPR)
M Jones <<<<< late 1st

I love DJM and would look to get him for Golladay, but the Jones for 1st addition is not close.

Too much in my opinion for Moore.

Moore for Golladay is close but a late second really doesn’t move the needle for me as a DJM owner. I just checked their rankings real quick on rotoviz and they have DJM 16 overall and Golladay was around 32.

How about trying to ask for a 2nd?

I’m high on DJ but Kenny+ 1st for DJ+ a 2nd sounds a lot better for you. If possible

Not exactly sure what you mean here??? I would argue Stafford is very much elite, incredibly durable and only 31 years old. Versus Cam or Allen, I would take Stafford 1,000 out of 1,000 times to throw to my WR.

I don't think Stafford is elite. My point was also that Carolina is likely to draft someone that can be elite sooner than Det. who will continue to ride stafford for many years. "Durability" is also a trait that doesn't typically last. CC: Cam on that one

Stafford has generated consistent QB1 production for the vast majority of his career, played significantly injured last season, always plays hurt and continues to quietly grind out QB1 production year in and year out. He's probably one of the most underrated QB's out there. His historical finishes every year in a standard 4-pt passing TD league:

2011: #4
2012: #9
2013: #7
2014: #15
2015: #8
2016: #6
2017: #5
2018: #18 (played seriously injured for a good majority of the season)
2019: currently #14, with 3 full missed games. He was #5 prior to injury.

Not sure Carolina can find this type of production with a dart-throw draft pick anytime soon, we all know QB’s are almost impossible to find and Stafford is and has been about as consistent as it gets.

Edit: And sorry to hijack the thread! :D

End of the day its an opinion. Like all of FF is. This thread isnt about whether Stafford is elite, nor was i trying to make it about that. The Stafford debate should not continue here lol

This is what I would counter with. Not a fan of Marvin Jones.

I would never move Moore for that ... Jones is completely inconsequential to the equation ... Moore = 1.03 & Golladay = late #1. So you’re offering two late #1’s for 1.03. During the draft I might do 1.03 for two late #1’s but until the available player pool of the late first round is better defined, there’s no way I’d take the uncertainty risk.
