Kenyan Drake to Arizona
"Arizona has reached agreement in principle to trade a conditional 2020 draft pick to Miami for RB Kenyan Drake, league sources tell ESPN"
What does this do to his value?
Should we expect a half-season rental or does he get re-signed & used as part of a committee in AZ?

I know you probably don't want to waste much FAAB or Waiver Order on Dolphins players but Myles Gaskin could be a solid cheap target.

What does this mean for David Johnson?
Could they be looking to move him to free up cap space & just roll with Drake/Edmonds?

It's a 2020 6th for a contract yr back as depth.
Nothing to see here.

Re: Kenyan Drake - Possibly Traded to Arizona
It's possible, but ultimately Drake is a FA after the season. So, I don't think this was a move for long-term plans. If anything, when everyone is healthy, Edmonds is probably taking a backseat.Prison_Mike wrote: ↑Mon Oct 28, 2019 7:40 am What does this mean for David Johnson?

Re: Kenyan Drake - Possibly Traded to Arizona
Yeah this could be more of a case where they believe they still have a shot to make the playoffs (its not out of the question) and they need more depth/weapons at RB with both Edmonds & Johnson likely out Week 9. It never hurts to kick the tires when the cost is reasonable after all & if Drake does benefit from a change of scenery the Cardinals can decide down the road if they want to sign him to an extension.
At the very least it is good on the Cardinals to keep adding guys to surround Murray with - especially with the run of injuries they've gone through.

Can the cards get a compensatory pick for losing Drake this offseason?
Re: Kenyan Drake - Traded to Arizona
I think this is going to be a key week of practice to pay attention to - I am starting to wonder if the Cardinals could keep Drake around longer than 2019 - and if they keep giving him a healthy volume of snaps/touches it could be an indication that they do have a longer term plan in mind than just a short-term injury depth move (that turned into a pleasant surprise).

Re: Kenyan Drake - Traded to Arizona
Does anyone think Chase Edmonds has any impact on Drake’s usage ?

Not a lot. They traded a pick for him, and have benched a guy making a ton of money for him.
