This is true depending on the type of player you're dealing with, but Kittle looked every part of a stud last season.

Players are always going to have ups and downs in terms of yardage and touchdowns, but once you get a stud you should just keep him unless you get a Godfather offer. Kittle fits the description.

This^

He checks every box:

An uber athlete at the position.

Big enough to block in-line.

Produced as a rookie on limited snaps (over 500 yards in 7 games as a starter).

Went on to set the all time TE record in his second season.

4 years younger than Kelce and 3 younger than Ertz.

What more do you people want?

So assuming Kittle does not play this week (listed as questionable in link) - then he will have missed 3 straight weeks basically. So the question that I am sure everyone is wondering about but has yet to ask - is how much of this is Phaded fault. ;)

Buying or selling is always about the strength of team.

Kittle is a stud. He will command a high price but if you own you better have a really good player to fill the hole that selling him will cause.

The goal of winning is paramount in fantasy.

Between him and Engram who I both traded for this year, my streak of getting TEs hurt is alive and well.

Phaded, you mind going out and trading for Kelce in a league??? I could use the help in a crucial matchup next week to get me into the playoffs!

He is my backup in all leagues I own the two players you cursed, and it looks like I will need him to finish strong.

Great bump, think it’s worth reiterating this ^, especially as we approach playoff time. We all play this game to win and winning involves owning as many CURRENT studs as possible, simply put. If you are constantly churning your current premier players for a haul of young promising players, you seriously risk missing the ultimate goal of why we all play in the first place. I bought Nuk, MT and Kittle all this year - which obviously flies in the face of “buy low, sell high” - but I’m currently in 1st with most points, and feel like I currently have a better shot at the ship than anytime in the past 5+ years. Kittle being dinged up for 3-5 games this season is indeed a bummer, but he is an insanely physical player and inquiring or buying owners should absolutely understand the risk they are taking in owning him. If you can pair him with a viable backup, which to me is a major key in owning him, I dont think there is any reason to sell him save for a truly massive overpay. My hope and expectation is that he comes back fully healthy in another 2-3 weeks, just in time to help carry all his owners for playoff time. Wishful thinking!

Agree, nice bump here. Caused me to reevaluate selling Kittle this last off-season. Looks okay in hindsight. The pick I got as part of the deal was part of a deal for MT who has saved my underachieving WRs. And I ended up nabbing Kelce to replace Kittle and that’s been just fine too.

It’s definitely difficult, and very much part of the fun of dynasty to try to make these maneuvers at the right time.

Kittle is currently the highest graded TE by PFF at 93.7. At this rate, he'll repeat as their highest graded TE.

If you own Kittle, these injuries don't really matter. You have the best TE in football, who's going to give you a positional advantage for a long time. He was never going to repeat last year's numbers, but he's still been really, really good:

- Six games of 7 targets or more
- Six games of 6 receptions or more
- Seven games of 50+ yards receiving

Like I said earlier in this thread: When you have a bonafide stud like this, buy low and sell high windows really don't matter. Just keep them and win your league.

Meh, he's TE4 in PPG in my league. Obviously very good, but he's not just going to win you a league like a Gurley two years ago. If you can get a haul for him, it's probably worth it.
