Bo Scarbrough

Postby Gunnar997 » Thu Oct 11, 2018 5:40 pm

Does Bo have any value now that he was added to the Jacksonville practice squad. They have been banged up in the backfield and I really don’t understand why this guy has been getting passed around. I’m in a 16 team league where we keep 13 players. Wondering if I should take a flyer on him while I still can.

I'd say no. I just can't see him being relevant. Didn't look good in preseason to me... slow plodder.

Didn’t he have the same 40 time as Fournette?

He didn't look slow to me, or labored in his movement (i.e. a plodder). He did look like a guy that doesn't have much instinct, or the patience to follow his blockers. He doesn't run low enough and he can't just rely on plowing through NFL tacklers like he did in college.

At minimum, Scarbrough needs a dominant O-line at this level to compensate for his flaws. It so happens that Jax's O-line has been pretty darn good this year (8th in ALY so far). But I don't think he's worth rostering in 12-team leagues while he's still on a practice-squad. He gets promoted to an active roster, then I'll reevaluate.

I've got him on my taxi squad because I had an available spot and our league has been stripped to the bone in terms of rookies available on waivers. Best you can hope for is that Yeldon moves on in free agency next year and Scarborough gets promoted to the active roster. Most likely the guy is not for the NFL.

No long-term value ... he couldn’t stick as Zeke’s backup ... I see no chance that he becomes relevant.

Realize this is an old post that has been reopened but current take. Absolutely a pick up. At this point in the season, you should be looking for relevance today not the future. If you're contending and have room, pick him up for points or to possibly remove points from another contender. If you're not contending, pick him up and sell for picks.

Scarborough and Williams should absolutely be rostered right now and either:

- Ride the wave if you're competing

- Pick them up to try to trade them to said contender if you're already out

My team is in first, and my competition has a need at RB. We use FAAB, I have $200 and he has $300. I'm assuming he goes all in on one of them.

Call me crazy but I just traded my 2020 3rd for $500 FAAB to ensure I win both.

Got Bo in waivers and probably giving him the start over Sony Michel with Mack hurt - hoping he's worth it!

I'd look into Ryan Nall too. Montgomery has been downright bad and he was questionable last Sunday.
