I believe this was prior to news of his recurring knee issue but not sure.
Had a similar experience. Best I was able to do is flip him for Deebo Samuel, which is a pretty bad return on market value.
Chiming in to share my experience as well. Got him in a package, missed whatever brief selling window there was right before the season began, and ended up dumping him + 2021 3rd for a 2021 1st + 2nd.
I got him, Hockenson and Terrance Williams for Brown last year. Still not upset with the trade but again was really banking on him shoring up my bad backfield.

I have an offer of a late 2020 1st that I’m weighing. I’m really bare at the RB and was hoping have him as part of my rebuild. He was scary good during the NFL playoffs last year.

I'm a bit surprised people are offering 2020 1sts for Michel right now. I've been waiting for him to have a good game to even attempt to get that for him.

I moved him straight up for DJM after week 2. Other owner was desperate and I couldn’t wait to get out of the patriots backfield. I’d take a late first pretty easily right now. He will have good games but will then disappear for weeks. There’s something to be said for consistency

What’s your thoughts on him in the future? I’ve always told myself to never trust a patriots rb but he’s been getting plenty of touches. The averaging 3.3 yards a carry is a little concerning thought. Will he eventually loose carries to Damien Harris or will the pats finally hang their hats on one guy? What’s his value?
Qb: Mahomes
Rb: Jacobs Ceh, Damien williams, Vaughn, rojo, fournette, Singletary, akers, snell, devontae booker, boston Scott
Wr: devante Adams, godwin, juju, mclaurin, diontae johnson, mims, Allen Robinson, gallup, Preston Williams
Te: hock, fant
Cb: Kyle fuller, Carlton Davis
S: Jamal Adams, Justin poyer
Edr: nick bosa, Joey bosa, Josh Allen, Jpp, emmanuel agbah
IL: Chris Jones, Jonathan Allen
Lb: Darius Leonard, Roquan Smith, greenlaw

1QB
10 team league
32 man roster
0.5 point ppr
6 point pass td

Idp scoring is even with offense

He is what he is: a one dimensional starting RB on a high scoring team. Without the receiving chops, he has a weekly low floor. But the main between the tackles guy on a high scoring team, he has a weekly high ceiling. The Pats have him cheap for two more seasons with a team option for the third, so that's in his favor.

I'm not surprised that Damien Harris hasn't played yet, but I'd expect something next year. Hard to say how he'll be used but something will happen if they move on from James White and/or Rex Burkhead and/or Brandon Bolden.

I put Michel at a mid first round value, maybe a mid first + something. I'd rather have a top four rookie pick.

I’d rather have at least 5 rookie RB (Swift, Taylor, Etienne, Dobbins, Harris) and at least 4 rookie WR (Jeudy, Lamb, Ruggs, Higgins) over Michel. I’m not sure I’d even give up a low 2nd for him.

I think mid 1st is over valuing but low 2nd? Cmon, he's a good player. I doubt the pats ever use him more than they are now but Im not selling low just to get rid of him

Michel is a tough one to me. I like the talent, but the production isn't superb. An encouraging sign is how important he was to NE in the playoffs last year, though, so maybe the Pats are just coasting and will rely on him again during the playoffs.

Either way, not great for fantasy. It's too bad he's stuck in New England for a few more years. Maybe the low YPC is his fault, maybe it isn't. We probably won't get the chance to truly find out.

I drafted him and own him in NonPPR even and I don’t think he’s worth a 2020 mid first. I actually think dude is talented but watching 2 yard runs again and again is painful. Then it feels like every time Burkhead or White touch the ball, it’s a chunk play.

Like most people I’ve sworn off New England RBs many times but in my experience they can always be had at such a “bargain” because all of my league mates feel the same way. So, I always get suckered into them.

FYI - DLF trade analyzer has Michel worth a hair more than a 2020 mid first. We all have different player values & that's good. It's hard to find an RB getting his volume, even if he's not very efficient. He's shown the ability to explode. Just watch last year's playoffs.

Very rational post and those are the reasons he’ll remain on my roster. Just sucks having a RB who gets 15+ carries per game, has a respectable 7 tds on the season and it still hurts to put him in my starting lineup.
