Hooper for Ertz

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Hooper for Ertz

Postby ManuManu » Tue Nov 12, 2019 1:00 pm

My team has collapsed so I’m looking to move pieces. The Hooper owner offered me a deal straight up for Ertz. I know he’s been the top TE, but it seems like his numbers are propped by Atlanta always being behind.

Instant accept?

The wrench in this is that we play for our draft picks. I’ll be in the conso bracket, so teams 5-8 play for picks 3-6. If Hooper is shut down, it would be a big hit for me hoping to win the third pick.
Team 1, 10-team 0.5-PPR
QB (1): Richardson, Watson, Purdy
RB (2-3): Walker, Swift, Dobbins, R. White, Mitchell, Gainwell
WR (3-4): Hill, Godwin, Aiyuk, Flowers, N. Collins, Doubs, M. Wilson, Shakir
TE (1-2): McBride, Goedert, Okonkwo

I'd take Hooper in a rebuild given the age gap, but since he's contending, try to squeeze Ertz + 2nd or Ertz + 3rd.

Agreed. Try to get something added.

Doubly agreed. If you had to straight up I’d still take the deal

I believe that this is the last year of Hooper's contract and ATL is in a really bad spot regarding cap space, so he likely will not be back in ATL. Ertz is a much safer choice, buyer beware on Hooper past this season.

I'll still take Ertz slightly over Hooper with the injury, and agree you can probably get a 2nd or an upside guy on top of Hooper from a contender.

Would take Hooper in a rebuild over ertz pretty easily . Goedert looks primed to take over for ertz.
