Trade deadline buys. Who's going to appreciate by the end of the season?

Postby Kmani6 » Thu Nov 07, 2019 10:52 am

Who do you guys think would be great buys before upcoming deadlines. My trade deadline is coming up in the next 3-4 days, and so that leaves a solid 7 weeks of football before trades will open up again. This means a lot of valuations right now will most definitely fluctuate from now to then. Likewise, a good buy before this deadline could appreciate significantly in the next few weeks. This could be anyone from stud players, to deep sleepers, or even 2020 picks, if you feel extremely strongly about the class. Let me know.
Dynasty Team 1:

10 Man, Full PPR, .2 PPC, Double Flex

QB: Kyler Murray
RB: Saquon Barkley , Breece Hall, Swift, Dobbins, Gibson, CEH
WR: Devante Adams, Tyreek Hill, Jamarr Chase, DK Metcalf, Devonta Smith, Jerry Jeudy
TE: Travis Kelce

2023 Picks: 1.4, 1.8, 2.9, 3.2, 3.6, 3.8

Dynasty Team 2:

10 Man, Half PPR, Double Flex

QB: Tua
RB: Barkley , Mixon, Javonte, Jacobs, CEH
WR: AJB, Tyreek, Lamb, Aiyuk, Bateman
TE: Kittle

2022 Picks: 1.5, 1.6, 2.3
2023 Picks: 2 x 1st, 2 x 2nd

A few guys I'd be targeting to appreciate in value, though they're all admittedly risky, are:

AJ Green: There's cause for concern with his ankle mysteriously swelling up again. I'm not buying into the claim that it's totally unrelated to trade talks. I've seen him go for a 2nd in a few leagues, if you believe there's a chance that he bounces back and gives you even WR2 production this could be a good time to buy.

Guice/Adrian Peterson: If you've got a strong feeling that either of these guys will be the workhorse the rest of the way, this is the best time to buy. AP can probably be had for a tuna sandwich at this point.

Alexander Mattison: In the event that Cook misses time, he'll be a league-winner.

OJ Howard: Price has never been lower. Hopefully things get better.

Kyle Allen: If you're in superflex, his price is still really low. I got him for a late 3rd despite the news on Cam; he's got a ~15 point floor in plus matchups so you could do worse.

---bonus round---
Josh Jacobs: His price may seem very steep already, but I don't think he's maxed out. The Raiders could be down two starters on the O-line tonight, so I'm expecting Bosa and Ingram to live in Carr's nightmares. It's easy to imagine a scenario where the Raiders lean on Jacobs to carry the offense not only as a runner, but as an bail-out option in the passing game. If he lights it up in prime time, his price will go from expensive to affordable, and I think he'll do just that. He's had 100+ scrimmage yards in four of his last five games.

12-team SF, PPR, TE premium, 0.25 PPCarry
1QB 2RB 2WR 1TE 1SF 4Flex
QB: Mahomes, Fields, Love
RB: Bijan, ETN, Pollard, Achane, Herbert
WR: Kupp, Hill, Metcalf, Ridley, Jeudy, D.J. M, Burks, Hollywood, Wan'Dale
TE: Kyle Pitts, Goedert

I'm starting to get the feeling AJG greens injury is mostly not even real.

It was a trade me I'm done here, but hes too classy to air it publicly.

Now the trade deadline is done he may just save himself for his new team next summer

I have the same suspicion. Giving the "All clear, I'm good to play" as the deadline reached its crescendo, then saying he "feels wrong" and can't play as soon as it passes. Can't blame the guy at all, there's nothing for him to be gained in playing for this team and risking injury right before free agency. He's done enough for CIN.

I'd throw out a 2nd for Brandin Cooks to see if his owner is panicking.
Au Tate is a good call too. His value has been depressed by the Green news over the last few weeks, but I think he'd have more hype otherwise.
Derrick Henry looks like a league-winner with his line playing better and the hardest part of their schedule behind them. He's kind of a hard buy since there is usually a Henry-lover in every league, and he already owns him, but I think he'll be better down the stretch than his current dynasty value (mid RB2)
Jamaal Williams is an Aaron Jones injury from being a league-winner. I'd buy him as a bench stash who can start in a pinch as-is.
Dynasty player since 2002.
I probably should have done something more productive with that time...

I am also in the camp thinking he probably sits the whole year, so I wouldn't buy him as a contender.

Well as I said above my conspiracy theory is hes going to be "injured" the rest of the season unless somehow the bengals get hot. He has zero to gain by playing out the season and will only hurt his price with a rookie throwing him the ball.

However IF dalton was in and he was playing. A late 1st probably. He can put up numbers and never leaves you hanging with a 0

Bengals are so stupid for not trading AJG. They will end up with nothing.

Singletary is a guy im going after everywhere. Something about him has me thinking this guy is a rb1. Very risky buy since his owners want a good price and the bills could bring another rb....but a chance im wiling to take right now on my competing teams.

As a Singletary owner I'm much more optimistic than when I drafted him. Despite people downgrading him due to size and measurables, he looks like he belongs. I'd still easily sell for a fair price as I plan to load up on RB in the draft but I'm not going to sell low just to move him.

I like AJG but as someone who drafted him and held him his whole career this is definitely not the case. He has a tendency to get hurt in the 1st quarter of games or just disappear every so often.

In the last 3 seasons he's had games of 1-6, 1-7, 0-0, and 2-17. Go back another year and he had another 0-0.

Sorry didn't mean to be picky, just found that quote interesting when he's kind of the opposite. For an elite WR he was actually one of the more likely ones to just put up a 0 or a 1 on the scoreboard, which he seemed to do at least once every year.
