DJ Chark
Re: DJ Chark
Going to be interesting to see how Chark does with Foles back at starting QB after his bye week.
He is still top 12 in weekly scoring average at 16.689 points per game with 43 receptions on 70 targets.
JuJu is now ranked 43rd in weekly scoring at 11.863 points per game with 33 receptions on 52 targets.
FYI
Odell is now 35th in weekly scoring at 13.038 points per game with 39 receptions on 67 targets. The good news for Odell is he has put up 3 straight double digit games in scoring even though his target numbers remain a concern.

Long term, Odell does not belong in this conversation. Short-term maybe. Long-term he is way more proven.Ice wrote: ↑Thu Nov 07, 2019 8:41 am Going to be interesting to see how Chark does with Foles back at starting QB after his bye week.

Or OBJ has already peaked, whereas Juju and Chark are still ascending.jetsfan5757 wrote: ↑Thu Nov 07, 2019 9:11 amLong term, Odell does not belong in this conversation. Short-term maybe. How can you expect OBJ to be productive with a QB that's thrown 7 TDs and 12 interceptions through week 9???? you're blind. put him on the hawks or the saints or the packers and see what happens.

Re: DJ Chark
I honestly can't tell if this is a joke thread or not...
The idea that Chark is valued anywhere near Juju or OBJ after not doing much last season, and then having a good first half of this season the vast majority played with the backup QB, not the regular starter for his team...
Sure he looks good, but there is hardly any track record so far. When all is said and done this season, he might not even be the highest scoring wide receiver named DJ... Sometimes I'm confused by this community.

Chark is breaking out as a WR1. Juju has been struggling as a WR1.
Odell has been struggling with his new team and marginal QB play just like the other 2 with their QBs.
Odell is obviously the most talented player in the group but this season only 2 of these three have been major fantasy disappointments over the first half of the season.
We can make excuses or justifications but it really doesn’t change the reality of the facts.

Wow. All the OBJ hate.
He could be too much of a headcase, a la Antonio Brown, but he is too young to have peaked physically. I think Baker and Cleveland are holding him back but will figure it out.

Re: DJ Chark
He's 27 and played 16 games once in his 5 full seasons, on pace to do it this year so far this year. NFL players don't tend to improve physically in their late 20's, so he has absolutely peaked physically the question is if he's maintaining it or starting to decline.jetsfan5757 wrote: ↑Thu Nov 07, 2019 11:30 am Wow. Of course dynasty is about looking forward, but a lot of it has to do with some kind of track record too.Ice wrote: ↑Thu Nov 07, 2019 11:28 amDynasty for most is about looking forward. I'm looking forward and seeing that Foles coming back means there is no guarantee that Chark will keep up his current clip. I'm looking forward to next year (or maybe even the next few weeks for that matter) where the Browns might have a different head coach who can fully utilize OBJ's immense talents. I'm looking forward to next year where Juju will have a HOF quarterback throwing to him (most likely) and the Steelers will have seen that Rudolph is not the long-term answer in Pittsburgh and address the heir apparent at the position.
Chark may very well continue his current pace for the rest of the year, and OBJ and Juju may do the same with their current clips... but the latter two have more baked in value than Chark at the moment, and I'm guessing that will stay the case for a while still.
I guess my point boils down to the fact that it seems off to me that the value of a player who has had a very good 8 weeks could already be similar to players who have had multiple studly full seasons, especially with the "draft capital" comments that get thrown around here so often and where all of these players were ranked this time last year.

Yeah. I have both Chark abd JuJu. Don't plan to trade either, but it would take more to get JuJu from me, I'll tell you that. Chark is starting right now, but I still view JuJu as more valuable long term.BigJoeWall72 wrote: ↑Thu Nov 07, 2019 12:44 pmOf course dynasty is about looking forward, but a lot of it has to do with some kind of track record too.Ice wrote: ↑Thu Nov 07, 2019 11:28 amDynasty for most is about looking forward. Re: DJ Chark
So we are going to, as harris football often says, start predicting what NFL offenses are going to look like in the future? Ultimately, before the season started many assumed the browns offense was going to be "unreal," and had OBJ valued as high as the dynasty WR 1-2. Just because the offense has been terrible, coaching horrific, and QB play god awful, that doesn't mean you vastly devalue the player. That type of mentality causes one to sell Diggs after week 3..
I may be wrong, but I know OBJ is somewhere around 5th in the league in YAC, and he's gaining more than 2 yards per separation on his routes run. Watch the games, and it's extremely easy to see that the browns are doing a horrific job utilizing him. He looks just fine. I care about the talent of the player, and like mentioned above a track record speaks volumes. A few weeks ago, as many others pointed out, we saw this community trash Mike Evans, who "wasn't even a WR 1 anymore," but his sheer Talent/Proven track record came through, embarrassing many who were strong-headed. Last time I remember a tall, athletic, 2nd round WR playing amazing at age 23 on the Jags was Allen Robinson.... Look how that turned out. I personally think you're way to attracted to the new shiny object, in Charke, and are delusional on your take of OBJ peaking.
I'm not saying your evaluation of Charke's talent is terrible. I like him too, and posted earlier in the season about how his body control was fantastic and similar to Golladay's, but I do think your vastly undervaluing consistency, and proven talent, which is the core of dynasty football.
