Fully confirm, no a scan is needed, but medical staff can more or less feel how loose it is and have a very good idea on what’s gone. That’s why you often hear ‘(team name) fear (player name) has a torn ACL’ it’s then confirmed after the scan.bjd5211 wrote: ↑Thu Oct 17, 2019 6:31 pmThere's no way of diagnosing a torn ACL this quickly.BlackOmega wrote: ↑Thu Oct 17, 2019 6:29 pmTrue enough, but I'm talking about walking back onto the field, you may indeed walk with a torn ACL but I would think it's not terribly prudent to do so immediately after the diagnosis

Re: 2019 Week 7
Chiefs have quietly fielded one of the worst run blocking offensive lines in the league this season. 30th in adjusted line yards before this game. Hard to bag on Williams for that.
They're obviously in trouble when Mahomes misses time. They're very reliant on the pass and that figures to drop. And with no run game, I'm not sure where the points come from. The defense showed up last night, but they'll have to show up more with him out.

There's still a cognitive dissonance out there about Damien.Orenthal Shames wrote: ↑Thu Oct 17, 2019 9:12 pm Anyone have an updated FPPT for Damien Williams halfway through the fantasy season?
Hope you sold high.
Earlier this week I sent a very good offer to a rebuilding team as a part of which I took Damien off his hands.
He responded that Damien is still worth a high 1st round pick (which IMO he never was). Good luck with that I guess.

Re: 2019 Week 7
My takeaways from last night:
- Sutton continues to look like the real deal
- Matt Moore needs a helmet that fits
- It looks like it'll be a rough few weeks (for fantasy) in KC without Mahomes
- Denver's backfield is one of the tougher RBBC's to predict on a weekly basis

Re: 2019 Week 7
I mean, McCoy had a much better statline than Williams, and on the few plays I did watch, he had some good-looking runs where I thought he ended up getting more than what was given to him. I didn't see the full game though.Cameron Giles wrote: ↑Fri Oct 18, 2019 5:28 am Chiefs have quietly fielded one of the worst run blocking offensive lines in the league this season. 30th in adjusted line yards before this game. As for the KC offense with Matt Moore. Idk, I think the run game is definitely a downgrade... the pass game too, but not as much. Unless the defense improves, they're going to need to keep up the scoring, and will likely find themselves trailing in games more often. Too many weapons and good offensive schemes to bust entirely. This might hurt them a little more on the deep ball, and on TDs in general obviously, but I could see the short and medium passes still working ok.

Not a good game for him at all. As an owner in a Yahoo league, I am relieved that Mahomes's injury + Flacco's play + the far-too-generous Yahoo blurb on Fant (below) will distract most of my league from the fact that he didn't look good.alewilliam789 wrote: ↑Thu Oct 17, 2019 7:34 pm Noah Fant looks like a straight bust. Guys dropped like 3 balls tonight whether it’s tallied in the stats or not. It’s great if you’re athletic, but if you are no good at catching the ball or blocking you’re no help to a team.
Yahoo blurb. Thanks Yahoo:
I'm certainly not trying to sell him right now, as I still believe in the talent and think he can clean up his game. But over the next couple weeks, if Drew Lock starts to get closer to health and Emmanuel Sanders gets traded, I might use that as a sell-high moment if Fant continues to look "meh".With Joe Flacco all the way off the rails, Fant never stood a chance. The first-round rookie now has just four grabs for 29 yards over his past three games. The "next step" probably won't exist for as long as Flacco is under center.

Re: 2019 Week 7
I usually agree with your opinions, but I gotta add something to your original point. McCoy has 5.4 YPC on 60 carries. Damien Williams has 1.7 YPC on 41 carries. They are running behind the same line.Cameron Giles wrote: ↑Fri Oct 18, 2019 5:28 am Chiefs have quietly fielded one of the worst run blocking offensive lines in the league this season. 30th in adjusted line yards before this game. You make a good point with Mahomes being out that the Chiefs might have to lean on the run a little bit more. I don't know if I'd trust him in my lineup though.
My guess is the latter. I think I made a pretty compelling argument that DWill is nothing more than an injury-proned career backup who made the most of his carries in junk time with the Chiefs, sans the first half of a Colts game. FDD went off, calling me a liar and making fun of my inability to correctly analyze RBs.TimeWillTell wrote: ↑Fri Oct 18, 2019 6:25 amI wonder: if FDD hadn't been banned, would he admit his error regarding DWill or would he have a series of excuses and continue to irrationally scream about his elite skill set.Life of Pablo wrote: ↑Fri Oct 18, 2019 6:08 amFantasyFreak wrote: ↑Thu Oct 17, 2019 8:05 pm D Williams with 6 carries for 2 yards and 2 catches for -1 yards. What would Mariota do in KC? Sell insurance? Drive an Uber? Certainly not play QB for a professional football team.

This remains the best tool for assessing the run game, at least statistically.
Statistically, the only lines run blocking worse than KC are the Jets and Bengals. 25th in stuffed percentage as well.
McCoy's been able to pop some longer runs as he's a better early down back between the tackles, but they're not running the ball because the line is getting beat consistently. Even then, KC is 31st in second level yards. They've just been fortunate to get some large open field runs.
Otherwise, it's odd that a team who's 5-2, with a +7.5 point differential is 26th in rushing attempts with one of the most positive scripts in football. Williams hasn't played well, but it's largely because the line is not playing well. A big part of his success last year was the yards before contact. That's not there this season.
