Cooks has had Brees, Brady, and been in a league leading offense under McVay for the last 4 years. Cooper had Derrick freakin Carr. If production is all that matters, I have to think your teams loaded up with "studs" like Kelvin Benjamin and Jordan Howard haven't been that great the last few years
The problem with getting hung up on this is that Cooks will continue to be productive while tied to a great offense for the foreseeable future...so why ding him for that instead of just accepting it for what it is? I like Amari Cooper but at a certain point you have to remind yourself that he isn't isn't 21 years old anymore and eventually the production matters more than a player's "potential" in fantasy.

I don’t understand why giving Brandin Cooks a basic level of respect means that you believe production is the only thing that matters. I think it's a pretty thin argument to make that Cooks doesn't deserve to be in the same tier of WRs as Cooper and that was really my only point. I'm also highly offended you've spoken about Benjamin and Howard in the same context as Cooks fwiw. This is a former Belitnikoff winner & first round pick with elite athletic measurables that we are talking about

I'd point out that Cooper produced poorly against a terrible secondary but there is probably another WR somewhere in the NFL who also had a subpar game so I guess I'd better not.

Once again - this is what Cooper does, blows up a couple games and then pulls a disappearing act. This is why looking at PPG or total points as your argument can be flawed.

I'm on your side. Cooper is always crowned as top 10 after his blow up games. Then disappears again. He's in the 15 range for me. I think he can pull it together, but I'm not moving him up until he has more than 2 games

Careful fellas, you're getting close to troll territory! I got quite a talking to last week for pointing this out.

It's ok. They own Cooper. You don't. Blah blah blah

It's going to be interesting to see what Cooper looks like next season with a full offseason in Dallas' headquarters and the offense. I'm still impressed that he did as much as he did, especially since I think Prescott is a worse QB than Carr. Also, it's tough to produce at the level he has in a midseason trade

Confirmation bias? Cooper has still had an average catch rate of 67%. Not great nor bad. Today he caught almost all 4 of his 5 targets (The ones that’s weren’t thrown to a defenders chest). I own Cooper and I never said he’s an automatic WR1 or even 2 for that matter. Just that he looked good. To say he wasn’t hampered by the play of Dak in either of these last two games would be an understatement. Dak only threw for 160 yards today and also Zeke tied Cooper for targets I’m pretty sure. Dak was even worse last week holding onto the ball and just plain inaccurate. I don’t think Cooper has been perfect either of these weeks, but it’s very apparent to me that defenses forced Dak to stay in the pocket and to throw into tight windows with pressure in his face. I watched both games and without the help of his defense Dak would have lost both games. Besides that defenses threw different looks at the Cowboys and Garrett had no clue how to adjust his usage of Cooper.
I may or may not be related to Bryan Edwards

Yeah - everyone is to blame except Cooper.

Not sure why you are quoting catch rate as a successful metric as you also stated one of the major flaws with that stat in the same breath. It is just as reliant on the QB as it is the WR.

After 5 games Cooper is WR4 in PPR with weekly scores of 23, 14, 27, 10, 40. 43 targets, 32 rec, 512 yards, 5 TDs. 25 years old.

Seems like the move to DAL really bounced his value back.

As a Cowboys fan, I absolutely hated them trading for Cooper at the time. And today I am happily eating multiple flavors of crow.

Loved the trade the Cowboys made then and still do today.

My only gripe with Cooper was his drop that hit him right in the hands that turned into an INT and opened the flood gates for the Packers. ☹️

Such a big difference going to a new team and getting a full off-season with said team.

Sometimes a fresh start is exactly what is needed - same story with Golden Tate, Robert Woods & Emmanuel Sanders. Not saying it happens all the time - just that it is nice to see happen occasionally.

Cooper has now had more 200 yard games (2) with the Cowboys than he had with the Raiders (1).
