Emmanuel Sanders worth a late 2nd?

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Emmanuel Sanders worth a late 2nd?

Postby NFL123 » Mon Oct 07, 2019 10:36 am

Going for the title this year and I have been offered Sanders (and Demariyus Thomas who I am not too bothered about) for a 2020 2nd, projected to be around pick 19-24.

Currently my starting WR's are Beckham, M Thomas, Evans and Fitzgerald, with MVS, Preston Williams and Auden Tate as my backups. Quite possibly comes down to whether Sanders is an upgrade on Fitz of not, also as a Broncos fan although I'm a huge fan of Sanders, I don't rate Flacco and he hurts Sanders value.

I have asked whether he would do a 3rd and 4th as a deal but it's a 2nd or no deal, what would you guys do, trade or keep the pick?

Any chance his team loses a few more games and he might become a more motivated seller? A 2nd is pretty steep for someone you shouldn't have to use very often. You can also say "no thanks" to him including DT in the package because who would you drop?

Sanders gives you a nice fall back plan in case of injuries, but not sure a would pay a 2nd for a "what if" kind of player.

I think it’s a fair enough deal and wouldn’t want to start anyone on your bench if anyone got hurt.

I guess that's not a bad price to pay for him and add him for depth, but man, I wouldn't feel comfortable starting him every week.

Price is about fair for a contender. Sanders is a nice bye week/injury fill-in.

Sanders pretty easy , I mean before this off week he was a top 12 WR and should have a couple more years of top 15 WR in him

I’d personally keep the pick. The price is pretty fair so I wouldn’t fault you for taking it, but Sanders in a run first Flacco led offense is a scary start.

Managed to land him for a late 3rd (should be at least pick 31 in draft), late 4th, Burton, Gallman, Mostert and Daesean Hamilton. Fairly happy with that as I don't feel any of the players have long term value apart from possibly Hamilton, had enough of Burton failing.

Also frees up some roster space that I need for bye week kicker and defence replacements, so that's an added bonus.

Thanks for all the feedback guys, much appreciated.
