Calling the plays, yes, but he’s calling from Arians playbook.
Okay, so if we eliminate or even reduce the percentage of rookie value that comes from what we are expecting of that rookie what else is there exactly to base rookie values on? I mean I can understand your thought that rookies should be ranked more cautiously and not necessarily given whatever rank you think they could eventually climb to but still whatever rank you give them is given solely off of expectations. Not saying I jow rank hock 4th, I dont, but I actually had him ranked 6th coming in and in the same tier with engram, howard, and henry and would not yet say I would move him above Howard for the 5th spot but after 1 week but if offered I n.v a 1 for 1 trade i would think about it. Also, I too had saquon ranked as the top rb before he stepped on the field and had zeke ranked there too when he came in. I have no problem with ranking top rookies boldlygrandmabetty wrote: ↑Fri Sep 13, 2019 9:30 amTo some extent yes i agree with you that you should trust your own evaluation and determine what your expectations for a player are going to be but cmon man we are talking about a rookie. You had high expectations for a rookie???? You don't say. NOBODY on this message board or in draft rooms/locker rooms, has ever had high expectations for a rookie only to watch them wash out of the league after accomplishing nothing. I can think of about a trillion rookie players i had high expectations for and maybe 5% of them ever amounted to more than a flex option. My point is to say you base your evaluations of a rookie solely on what your expectations of them are is about the most flawed way i can imagine building a team.bjd5211 wrote: ↑Fri Sep 13, 2019 9:06 am Sure if Hockenson was some mid round pick who came in and had a great game it would be too early to give it much thought or bump him up. He's not though, he was a top 10 pick touted as one of the best TE prospects to ever enter the league, and he's done nothing to show that wasn't warranted. I was also told I was crazy and being premature last year saying I would take Barkley before he ever played a game last year over guys like David Johnson and Leveon Bell, hell I was willing to take him 1.01 in startups if I had done any last year. I value guys on what I expect them to do going forward, not what they have done. I already had Hockenson as the #8 TE in Dynasty from the moment he entered the league, so to jump him up to 4 after what he and the others that were ahead of him have done is not a big reach in my opinion. Hockenson is a special player and now is the time to acquire him, his value os only going to go up going forward.
Patience in dynasty. Panic in redraft
I just am not sure it gets better. Arians just hates Tight Ends. Also Winston sucks. How long before they are both gone?
Winston is in the 5th and final year. Not sure he gets another deal in TB. I doubt Arians gets the boot after 1 or 2 years
Legitimate question: what is the issue you refer too with Andrews? Thanks.Jigga94 wrote: ↑Sun Sep 15, 2019 5:45 pmWinston is in the 5th and final year. Not sure he gets another deal in TB. I doubt Arians gets the boot after 1 or 2 years
I get the panic on Howard but who are you moving ahead of him? You already had Kelce, Kittle, Ertz above him and now can probably say Engram, Hock, Andrews and possibly Henry (those 2 both have their issues). Seems like he's still top 10 based on scarcity alone.
In your situation with Ertz, just hold Howard for now. No reason to do anything right now
I meant Henry comparing him to Howard. I see I worded that funnyTimeWillTell wrote: ↑Sun Sep 15, 2019 5:57 pmLegitimate question: what is the issue you refer too with Andrews? This is worse, though. BA putting it all on OJ and taking no responsibility for getting 0 targets to one of his best weapons when the offense has been bleep for 2 weeks. I'm terrified in re-draftPhaded wrote: ↑Fri Sep 13, 2019 4:21 pmIt wasn't quite in that context..

I think that 1st game showcased his eventual upside while the 2nd game is exactly what one should expect from rookie TEs. Also different teams play TEs differently. The Raiders & Broncos for example are famous for being fantasy gold for TEs recently - the Chargers not so much (maybe having an all-time great TE helps them defend TEs better?).Johnny Canuck wrote: ↑Mon Sep 16, 2019 8:38 am Most ppls favorite week 1 victory lap, TJ Hock, only put up 7 yards total (so maybe we can pump the brakes on him just a touch...). Soooooo does that make OJH owners feel better now that some other TEs did absolutely nothing as well?
