Is this trade worth vetoing?

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Is this trade worth vetoing?

Postby dynofun » Tue Sep 10, 2019 5:41 pm

OK this trade just went down in my 12 team Dynasty League. I personally think it's pretty horrible but we'll see what everyone here thinks:

Team A got TJ Hockenson

Team B got Devin Singletary and Marquise "Hollywood" Brown

Is this bad enough to warrant being overturned?

a) never veto
b) this is not that bad. Looks like some people thinking they're capitalizing on week 1 hype

Again, no reason to ever veto outside of a serious issue and nothing wrong with this deal. Brown and Hockenson are both considered great prospects and they both showed why in week 1.

Seems like a good trade for both people imo.

In my leagues
Hock went 1.6-1.8

Singletary went 1.10-2.1
Hollywood went 1.12-2.8

So it’s a pretty solid offer and deal for both teams. Don’t remotely see the issue

I’d be scared of what other trades have been previously vetoed if this is considered a grey area in your league

Is this supposed to be unbalanced in one team's favor? For me, I use the veto obviously when collusion is proven but collusion is pretty hard to prove so not completely opposed to using it if a deal is completely and ridiculously unfair to the point it would ruin the balance of a league. This does not even come close

99% of the time vetoes end up being just straight trade envy. I've never had collusion remotely come up in any of my leagues in all the years I've played, and I've only seen maybe one or two examples on this forum where it happened. Even the "league balance" argument is BS, every league ever has Haves and Have Nots and there is no way of knowing how trades really shake out. 4 years ago people probably would have said trading Dez for Davante Adams was unfair or affected league balance.

Owners need to be allowed to manage their teams as they see fit. What you value may not align with what I value, and you don't get to dictate to me how I value a player(s) nor do I get to do it to you.
