Rebuilding team, move Chubb??

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Rebuilding team, move Chubb??

Postby Mr. Reid » Sun Sep 01, 2019 5:45 am

I'm currently in rebuild mode and I'm considering moving Chubb. Should I hold onto a young RB with Top 5 potential or add depth for future moves? I will not be able to compete for a ship this year, but I'm also not excited to completely give up on this year. I feel if the cards play right and Guice and/or Penny take lead duties early in the season, I could have an outside shot at the playoffs.

What has me interested in the trade below, is I like the idea of adding a potential WR1 and potential top 12 QB, with the thought of drafting a high end RB in 2020 draft. Am I over thinking this and should just hold onto Chubb and look at continued rebuild next year? If I could land one of the big three RB's in 2020 draft, I could potentially have a nice backfield with Chubb, Guice, Swift (Taylor or Etienne), Penny. But I could potentially be down to 1 QB. Thanks for your thoughts................

I would hold Chubb for that but I'm also not high on Coleman or Brieda.

I wouldn’t be opposed to trading Chubb but not for anything close to what is offered. Lot of dimes for a dollar.

If harrry blows up and Haskins is decent to good you might regret it a little, but I’d rather have chubb.

I am not giving up Chubb for that, I'd rather use him as a rebuild piece than Haskins who isn't starting yet, Harry who hasn't done much to impress, and two throw ins that I am not high on at all. I'd rather have picks next year for Chubb than those players.

Agree. Wouldn't be opposed to moving Chubb in your situation, but not for that return. You need a much better QB in return than Haskins. Something along the lines of Darnold + 2020 1st, would make me more interested.

Hold Chubb, or at least get a much better return. The 9ers RBs are worth very little in this deal.
