Hard to have a lot of confidence/excitement when you see all the WRs picked before him, most of whom weren't in the same conversation as him in dynasty circles pre-draft:

25 Marquise Brown
32 N'Keal Harry
36 Deebo Samuel
51 AJ Brown
56 Mecole Hardman
57 JJ Arcega-Whiteside
59 Parris Campbell
62 Andy Isabella
64 DK Metcalf
66 Diontae Johnson
67 Jalen Hurd
76 Terry McLaurin
93 Miles Boykin
103 Hakeem Butler

Also, I hate when people make arguments for certain players by using the round #, or even worse the day #. An early 2nd (mid-30's) is significantly different from a late 2nd (low-60's). I don't have a problem with Butler being a 4th round pick. But I do have a problem with 13 WRs being picked before him. I've also been low on Guice when this happened to him last year (though to a much lesser extent of course).

2022: 5-1, 2nd (AP: 47-7 / 87.0%, 1st)

QB: Hurts, Russ, Carr
RB: Chubb, Pierce, Swift, JRob, D'Ernest, Ford
WR: Diggs, Evans, GDavis, Nuk, Keenan, Hollywood, Mooney, CSamuel, Doubs

Well, when they calculate the bust rate by round they usually go by the round the player was taken in and fourth rounders don’t fair that well. Of course some will sneak through, but whether 4.1 or 4.11, the odds are stacked against them.

When I first started scouting and ranking for this class I had him near the top of the Wr class. Ultimately I cooled on him after weighing everything.

We drafted yesterday and he went the last pick of the 7th round 😂

I still like him and happy to stash him on IR, but I got him in the 3rd round. I'm old enough to remember some people around here touting him as a top 3 pick early in the draft process. I bet he really hurt some owners in leagues that draft before the NFL draft.

He went before Jacobs in a league I'm in, with supposed Dynasy Sharks.

Yikes that hurts.

Butler can't even practice with the team for reps if he is on IR, correct? So this isn't even a "redshirt" year for him.

Don't underestimate the impact of mental reps and learning how to be a pro from watching guys like Fitz and Crabtree. If he's not a total blockhead, he can develop even though he's not allowed to practice. Next offseason will be very telling for Butler and his chances of ever being fantasy relevant.

Yes, I think this is one of the best WR's classes in years.

I have personally spent several hours on this player. I can comfortably comp him to Michael Thomas or Aquan Boldin if you want to go back a few years.

This Player is really good at routes and fights for every ball. He is extremely nuanced in his routes and changes speeds when necessary. Love his play strength. I see a player with 100 catch potential as an excellent move the chains type of player. I have picked up 4 picks in round one. 1,2,5,6 and 2.2. (3 for sure in Round 1 will be WR's.)

IMO this player is in a contest with AJ Brown for the safest WR in this class.

I have Harmon rated higher than any WR from last years class. I have him #4 with upside. Think Jarvis Landry on steroids if you want another comparison. I believe Landry has more receptions than any WR in history over his first 5 years and Harmon looks better. Landry was a 4.77 40 guy to put it in perspective.

Don't sleep on Harmon; he is a football player.

If one is looking for safe plays, I have Harmon 2nd. If he is there at 5, I will draft him with great confidence. Not a chance he falls IMO in my rankings but he could rise.

Harmon is one of favorites in this class. Extremely High Floor player.
I know this was from 4 months ago but I would love to see how this rookie draft ended for you Ice? Did you get Butler and Harmon and AJ with 3 of your 4 1st round picks?

If so, now one of the older WR prospects gets older without playing a single snap...Kevin White anyone?

I'm not here to say "I told you so" or anything like that, cause I didn't even start looking into this rookie class until June or so. But man this was an interesting thread to read lol. Wonder how some of these guys will turn out.

I took
Jacobs 1.1
DK 1.2
M Brown 1.4
M. Hardman 1.5
Miles Sanders 1.6

NE Harry 1.3 Montgomery 1.7

The guy at 1.3 was locked on DK which is why I took him ahead of Brown.

Still like Harmon a lot on film but his combine was really bad and I suspect his interviews were not great.

I was never high on Butler. I dropped AJ due to location but he did go in the 1st round

I scouted Hardman late but really liked him. He could be a steal in a couple of years.

This reminds me of Kevin White. An older, undeveloped WR going on IR in his rookie year. This is horrible for Butler.

It's not great. White's injuries were debilitating long-term though and have sapped his explosiveness to the point where he just can't play. That's not what's happened with Butler. There's little worry about long-term complications with his hand injury. There's also no reason he can't train extensively soon. There's no denying though that this is a dreadful start to his career.

I expect by rookie draft time in 2020 that Butler will likely be pretty cheap to acquire if you wish to see if he can overcome this.
