Damien Williams trade

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Damien Williams trade

Postby Hankybro21 » Mon Aug 26, 2019 9:06 am

Team 1

Give: Damien Williams, 2019 5.10
Get: TY

I don't know how to value either of them at this point with Luck gone. This guy has been resistant to giving me TY all off-season but now wants to sell. I do like Damien, am slightly nervous about my RB depth if I move him, but am also fairly certain he's replaced next year. Thoughts?

Hilton took a big hit but I think he is worth more then Williams personally. I would hold off and see how the season gets started for each player. Not sure you need either player.

I think your RB depth is ok if you want to make this move and if you feel Williams is gone next year, it would make sense to move him. I'm not a big believer in him either but i'm not sure I want anything to do with TY either. As stated above as well, you really don't need TY. Your WR group is loaded with studs in Nuk, Thomas and Evans! Mix in Godwin, Williams, Pettis, etc and you're sure to have a couple guys there who take the next step. Just don't see the need to go out and get TY?

Alright thanks, I don't "need" TY per se, but if the value is there then it'd be harder to pass up. I'll prolly just wait a bit to see how things play out.

Of note, this guy does need an RB (lost MG III and he is competing) so I may try to move Damien + for him rather than TY

I'd wait for Williams to have a huge game or two and then move him if you really don't want him....I mean his first touch on Saturday would have been worth 13.2 points in my leagues.

I think people are overreacting about Hilton. Brissett is a different QB from 2 years ago and the entire team (especially O-line) is completely different. With that said, you should be able to get a pick added to the Hilton side right now.

I would treat this trade as a redraft and I want as many RB's as possible in that scenario.
I would say there is a fair shot that Damien isn't the lead dog next year, but then again that would mean he couldn't make it a full season this year.
Hilton has 1 more year on his contract after this and a 14+ million cap hit if they retain him. If he regresses without Luck, he may be a cap casualty next year. Do they extend him in his age 30 season?

I’d rather flex Williams on bye weeks than Ty. Pass

Thanks all. I passed on TY. We are in talks now of Damien for Melvin. All he has for RB at this point is Barkley and I can probably stomach some reduced depth now for MG III possibly coming back this season
