Re: Luck retiring!!!!
I'll let someone else waste roster spots on him, Megatron, and Gronk. It legitimately sounds like Luck was not happy playing football anymore because of the pain. That pain isn't going away, especially if he comes back.Shcritters wrote: ↑Sat Aug 24, 2019 7:33 pm So here’s the question... if he gets dropped in your league and you have deep benches, so you stash him in case he comes back?

Re: Luck retiring!!!!
Glad I put it that big Chargers bet a week ago, -3. Have Luck on one Dynasty team only, but it has AB, Shady, Julio, Rivers, etc. So that was a quickly dwindling team. Might have to take TY out of some Week 1 daily lineups, but he may still get his. Crazy news, will be interesting to see what else added to the 'mental toll' besides the obvious.

Re: Luck retiring!!!!
I say good for him. Walking away on his own term and accepting that other parts of life might be more important that football. We all only get one life, why should anyone have to endure something that they don't fully enjoy when the have the $ and means to do something else. He's got enough $ to do anything he wants in life. Heck, he could sit on a beach for the rest of his days if he wanted to for cripes sake.
As someone who has dealt with my share of chronic pain I can say that money doesn't make up for not feeling good.
Sucks for us fantasy nerds though!

Re: Luck retiring!!!!
I know, just lamenting what could have been. Especially with Megatron and Luck, they are all-time great talents who very likely may not ever get into the HOF. Gronk to me is the greatest TE ever, but he'll likely never be considered that by most due to the lack of longevity.
Re: Luck retiring!!!!
Totally true. But I guess more philosophically, who gives a crap if you make it to the HOF if you aren't enjoying the process it takes to get there. I totally see eye to eye with Luck on this deal.. Life's to short to live your life in order to fulfil other people's expectations or goals. Live your own life and own it.bjd5211 wrote: ↑Sat Aug 24, 2019 8:17 pmI know, just lamenting what could have been. Doyle actually had his best year with Brissett - but it is definitely going to depend on how good their connection remains and how much the Colts need him to block.dark_knite03 wrote: ↑Sat Aug 24, 2019 7:11 pm Guessing that this makes the Doyle/Ebron debate easier.....take neither

For sure, I'm just speaking from a selfish/fan perspective. He made the right decision for himself.wingnutty wrote: ↑Sat Aug 24, 2019 8:35 pm

Hes made like 90 million over his career. He and his kids and his kids kids and will be just fine.
Re: Luck retiring!!!!
I have no doubts that Gronkowski will make it into the HOF - he did enough to revolutionize the position. I think MegaTron will also - he played long enough and established enough records/production to be strongly considered - the only one of those I do not expect to make the HOF is Andrew Luck unfortunately.bjd5211 wrote: ↑Sat Aug 24, 2019 8:17 pmI know, just lamenting what could have been.
