Release the Guice! - The Derrius Guice Discussion Thread
Re: Release the guice
Successful first day of practice for Guice, his first proper football played since last August.

For those that might not know yet, Gruden and of course the practice itself confirm that Guice is practicing with zero limitations, knee or hammy or anything else. He's fully healed, apparently 100% healthy.

Any hamstring issues after an ACL tear are not much ado about nothing.ninotoreS wrote: ↑Wed Jul 24, 2019 7:53 pm Told y'all it was probably much ado about nothing.
For those of you in redraft, I'm seeing Guice in the lower 30s now for RB adp. Even if you're not a particular believer, you should jump all over that. Because it's just logical -- he's being priced as an RB3, and yet all it will take is an injury to a 34 y/o to vault him to box-scores like Chubb's last season.

And yet, it was. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
The report was dubious click / re-tweet bait all along.

If he in fact never had an issue with his hamstring, yes. Again, hamstring issues tend to linger. I was concerned about him before the reported hamstring issue.

Re: Release the guice
The hamstring issue I remember happening and reading a beat reporter on twitter saying he thought it was not even a classifiable injury(even less than grade 1 - which is mild 2-3 weeks recovery with no lasting impact), and it happened roughly 6 weeks ago. Then several weeks after seeing that report it went “public” with NFL.com and other national reporters, despite it not being a meaningful or important story. They asked Gruden about it in mid July(it was like 3 or 4 weeks after I heard the report first) and he was a bit perplexed, saying it wasn’t a concern.
Guice was also fully cleared on Tuesday of this week by team doctors. And while it IS hard to trust the Redskins medical staff, this seems like beyond a nothing burger.
Wish we could see the big run today in practice, all the writers are gushing about it on Twitter right now.

Re: Release the guice
Guice must have pissed someone off. First the hit job on his character during the nfl draft which causes him to fall. Then the news that he was having a slow recovery from the surgery which was basically just old news, we already knew about the setbacks from infections which he was already past at the time. Now this hamstring bombshell that turns out was over a month old and not even a big deal at the time.FantasyDumDum wrote: ↑Thu Jul 25, 2019 12:14 pm The hamstring issue I remember happening and reading a beat reporter on twitter saying he thought it was not even a classifiable injury(even less than grade 1 - which is mild 2-3 weeks recovery with no lasting impact), and it happened roughly 6 weeks ago. Yeah, seems like it - then again, it is Washington, which has looked like a dumpster fire franchise for a while now.Dynasty DeLorean wrote: ↑Thu Jul 25, 2019 1:08 pmGuice must have pissed someone off. I'm genuinely surprised and relieved he was back today and looked good. I mean, could Guice owners, especially those who drafted him, have received any better news?

This may be the last chance you get to buy Guice low. If you believed in the talent last year before his injury he has fallen a lot since then.

Re: Release the guice
Hamstring issues are common the first year back from an acl tear and can linger. It’s definitely not something to be ignored.
Re: Release the guice
Don’t ignore it. Take advantage of it. Guice is my rb 4 (drafted him) 4 (acquired for early second) and 5 (acquired for 2 late seconds) I’m not relying on him (hopefully). It feels good having that in my back pocket.XxBallMeBlazerxX wrote: ↑Tue Aug 20, 2019 4:42 pmHamstring issues are common the first year back from an acl tear and can linger.
