EDIT - Penny in there once the Hawks got in the red zone. Interesting.
Because they want to make him look horrible by trying to slam him up the middle against a stacked box in short yardage, then blame him when they don't score a TD... is what i assume

I don't understand their play calling with him. It's maddening. They've targeted Carson twice. Don't target the guy with 4.46 speed who ripped off a 27 yard play last week on his only target.

Penny's gonna get at least a 150 touches this year, assuming Schotty calls even just 75% as many run plays this year as he did last year.

And considering Carson has a long injury history and that he seems nearly a lock to miss at least a few games every season, Penny has upside for a lot more. There's no Mike Davis now to split touches with when Carson is on the sideline.

If I owned Penny, I'd confidently consider him an RB3 / low-end flex with RB1 upside. Nothing I've seen in preseason so far is encouraging me to change my mind.

Maybe it's giving Schotty too much credit, but why would a team reveal too much of their real offense in preseason?

Appreciate it. Glad to hear he's doing well as a blocker, he'll need good work ethic to make the most of his talent.

I meant he has made 2 or 3 throws that were more difficult than either Kyler of Jones. I wasn't talking about overall performance.
He's also made a lot of really poor throws - I mean, everyone is talking about that deep shot he threw under pressure for a TD; but people aren't talking about the three deep shots he missed in a clean pocket.

Overall Haskins has looked exceedingly mediocre.
On NFL Network, one of the Redskins announcers (Joe Thiesmann) said that, when Haskins misses, he misses high. That points to a mechanics issue.
He must have heard about the NFLs relaxed stance on being high. 8-)

Run Penny up the middle, but don't block. Repeat. LOL. At least they split him out wide on third down for a nice catch and run.

I've said it before and I'll say it again -- Carson is the better back for the Seahawks. Penny is a square peg in a round hole. He doesn't belong on this team. He's not being used properly and that's because he doesn't fit in the system.

He'd be great in a Cohen/Sproles/Duke Johnson role.

DK Metcalf apparently to undergo knee surgery. :(

No specifics or timetables, just that the hawks are "optimistic" he'll be back for week 1. Still, not great to hear.

If he didn't have all these injury issues in college, he would have been my 1.01 selection. He would also have been a first rounder, too.

I hate injuries. We may never get to see what a truly gifted physical specimen this guy is on the field.

No way. Come on man, Bell was absolutely on another level in his Steeler days. Really not sure how much you can glean from 3 preseason carries. I say 3, because that TD literally every RB on a current NFL roster would have scored that, that's how well blocked it was. I think Samuels is a quality back, but nowhere near the same talent level of Le'veon Bell.
Nowhere did I say that I based all of my opinion on 3 carries. Nor did I say that td run was spectacular. Yes anyone could make that td run so it doesn't count at all. I have been thinking he looks that good since last year. When he destroyed the Pats, go watch all of his carries in that game against the Pats. He is such a smooth runner and an excellent receiver. He is that good.
I watched that game vs the Pats. If you think he's as good as prime Le'veon, we're not going to agree about anything with this guy, and I like him.
I'm with you that he's not Bell, but as a Steeler fan I think it's the team's best interests to use Samuels and not treat Conner like a workhorse. Will they do it, history says no but Conner breaking down at the end of the year did us no good.
