Lets be real here, Saquon is the #1 WR on this team and he'll see 100+ targets this season for the Giants. #2 on the team will be Evan Engram, Shepard will be the 3rd best pass catching option on the team which wont amount to anything better than WR20 this season.

Engram might be the #1 target. Barkley could be #1 or #2. Tate isn't a lame duck.

Shepard is a good buy low perhaps, but with a bad offense and poor QB play, I wouldn't put too much stock in this player. I own him as depth in one league, and that's it.

Had a guy offer me the 1.09 and 2.14 in this years draft for him. Im not big on the rest of the players in this draft but I still feel like thats good value on Sheppard. I want to pull the trigger but Im starting to get a little low on WR's because I just made a trade for Hopkins. We start 3 WR and I have....

Ju-Ju
Nuk
A Rob
Boyd
Shep
Parker
TQ Smith

Parker is doing his "great in camp but Im gonna suck" thing and TQ had a couple good games but hes not who I want as a bye week filler. What do you guys think?

Over the last 2 years he's put up 58-746-3 in 11 games where OBJ did not play.

That projects to 84-1085-4 over 16 games, which seems like pretty good value where he's currently being drafted.

Reconsidering this after watching a bit of his tape. Shepard is better than I've ever given him credit for, and I've always been higher on him than consensus.

He's solid. Won't turn into a league winner necessarily but I've always thought he had talent also.

Is “meh” a suitable reply? He’s always struck me as a JAG, but I don’t mean that degradingly. He looks like he belongs in the NFL, he’s OK. But he’s not a WR1 and is going to be miscast in that role. Maybe he puts up decent numbers this year out of necessity. But I wouldn’t bank on that for the future, and if you can sell for a 1st like mentioned above, I’d be out quickly.

Just read through the thread... I'm a huge giants fan, watch every game. I also own Shepard on a team. I agree with the comment above - Shepard is an very, very good NFL receiver and player. He's not really ever going to be a very good fantasy asset because he's tied to a team that's heavily invested in running the ball that also has a very good receiving tight end and receiving RB, as well as a questionable (at best) QB situation. (Eli is done and Jones, while I'm slightly optimistic after 2 good preseason games, is a complete unknown).

When the Giants extended him, I was very happy as a fan of the Giants, disappointed as a dynasty owner of Shepard. On the right team, this guys a PPR dynamo. On the Giants, he's an afterthought. Beast in the slot but not limited to there. Can play outside. I think he does ok vs. press but haven't looked too closely honestly, that's pure recollection. But I do really believe that if he were on a high volume passing team that stayed in WR3 sets a lot (Rams, Steelers, Packers, probably the Bucs under Arian) and he was in the slot and worked around in different positions, he'd be a hundred catch guy.
