Who to pick with the picks.

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Who to pick with the picks.

Postby Openmountain » Thu Aug 15, 2019 3:32 pm

Honestly I know I need TE’s and WR’s. I got the 1.05,1.06, 2.02 and 2.06 pick in 10 team league. I’m thinking getting TE Hockenson and Fant right away with the first 2 picks, but I probably should be picking TE then WR and see if Fant is there at 2.1. My team does need WR help. What your thoughts? Team 1 in sig.
QB DeShaun Watson, CJ Stroud, Bryce Young, Will Levis
RB Saquon Barkley, Jonathan Taylor, Alexander Mattison, Roschon Johnson, Kendra Miller
WR Ja’Marr Chase, CeeDee Lamb, Chris Olave, JSN, Treylon Burks
TE George Kittle, Noah Fant, Dalton Schultz, Luke Schoonmaker

I'm not a fan of drafting for need in the rookie draft so if one of the top four (which should be Jacobs, Montgomery, Sanders and Harry still despite the slow start) drop to you at 1.05, grab them otherwise, pick your flavor.

This is going to sound like a cop out, but this year more than most beyond the top 4 picks it seems pretty flat, so draft who you like.

I'd just say not to lock in on a given player otherwise you might miss falling value.
Team 1: Dynasty/Contract Team: 12 Team, PPR, QB,1 RB, 2WR, 2 Flex WR/RB, TE (Premium TE scoring: 1.25X receiving yards points)
QB – J. Hurts, A Richardson (R-IR))

WR – J. Chase, C. Lamb, K. Allen, T. Burks, DJ Chark, P. Nakua (R)
TE – D. Waller, C. Okonkwo, L. Thomas, J. Ferguson

Team 2: Dynasty Team: 12 Team, 0.5 PPR, QB, 1 RB, 2 WR, 1 TE, 2 Flex WR/RB/TE (Premium TE scoring: 1.5X receiving yards points)
QB - A. Rodgers, L. Jackson
RB - B. Hall, S. Barkley, A. Kamara, E. Mitchell, J. Mason, Z. White, K. Miller (R), T. Spears (R)
WR - T. Hill, D. Adams, C. Watson, M. Brown, R. Rice (R)
TE - D. Waller, G. Kittle, J. Ferguson

Just pick to top player available like the previous post said. You could always swap a rookie WR for a TE between now and the season or even early in the season if you really need to. But, I'd just pick BPA.
12 team DYNASTY w/ 1/2 PPR
1QB, 2RB, 3WR, 2FLEX, 1TE, 1DEF, 9BCH, 2IR
2020 - 2nd place
2021 - 3rd place
QB: Rodgers, Goff, stafford
RB: Swift, Henry, Akers, Hunt, Algiers, Spiller, K.Williams
WR: Hopkins, Juju, Pittman , T.Burks, J.Williams, G.Pickens, A.Robinson, Metchie
TE: Andrews,
FLEX: Etienne (RB), Cooper (WR)
DEF:

BPA despite need. Best way to get top value whether it's on your roster or on the trade market.

I would not take both Hock and Fant...
you will get some great players with those picks.. good luck..
if you have roster space, don't be afraid of trading back a bit to pick up some 2020 love...

Unless a truly ELITE TE, don't draft till the 2nd round. The differential is minimal. Seriously.
QB: Mayfield, Bridgewater, Fitzpatrick
RB:David Johnson, Mixon, Chubb, James Robinson, Mattison, K Vaughn
WR: AJG, K Allen, D Adams, JuJu, C Godwin, D Slayton, S Miller
TE: Engram, Kittle
K: Succup
Def.: Arizona

Champions 2006 and 2018. Second a few times in between, again in 2019.

No PPR. Start 1 QB, 2 RB, 2 WR, 1 TE, 1 Flex (RB,WR,TE) 1K 1 1 Def
Drop 7 ea yr. 20 player roster with up to 2 IR

Thank everyone for input. I been in this league 4 years now. People don’t trade much(only the same 2 people). And everyone talks who they’re gonna for. They ask me and I’m quiet. I just know I need a TE and WR. But like one person said, I could wait till second round to get one of the TE’s so I can stack up on WR with first 2 picks.
Draft what people are getting
1. Montgomery
2.Harry
3. Jacobs
4. DK Metcalf
5. Me?
6 Me?
Generally people in this league do pick who they want. My draft is next week.

Yeah, Sanders at 5 and your favorite player left on the board after. It's okay to grab a TE if you see greatness, just know it will take a minute for them to develop. Campbell and AJ Brown look good as well, but they may take some time to shine as well.

IMO there are much better players that will be on the board than Hock and Fant. Rookie TE's typically take time to develop. You are better off taking BPA and trading for need (even if your league mates are not active you can still send out offers). You may end up being able to trade for one of these two during the season for less than the value of the pick you would have used to get them.
Team 1 - 12 team PPR - 20 man roster
Start 1 QB, 2 RB, 2 WR, 1 TE, 2Flex

QB - Hurts, Fields
RB - Barkley, D. Swift, A.J Dillion, J. Kelley, R. Penny, J Williams, A, McFarland, M. Mack
WR - D. Adams, J Chase, J. Jeudy, D. Mims, R. Bateman, A Rodgers
TE - Kittle, K Pitts, J. Smith, L. Thomas,

Team 2 - 12 Team PPR SF BB - 22 man roster
1 QB, 2 RB, 2 WR, 1 TE, 1 Flex, 1 SF

QB - Watson, T Lance, M Jones, C Newton
RB - M Sanders, A Gibson, M Gordon, Duke Johnson, J Kelley,
WR - C Godwin, C Ridley, T Boyd, AJ Brown, L Shenault, J Reagor, K Toney, T Marshall
TE - Z Ertz, J Smith, L Thomas, H Long

Is Delanie Walker a free agent? He could be a good TE filler this year then you could use picks to load up on WR and RB.
