What should I look for in return for Trading Brees

Postby umbrellaacademy2019 » Sun Aug 11, 2019 12:05 pm

10 Team Superflex league. There is a week until the rookie draft and myself and my fellow co-owner told the league we would be willing to trade Drew Brees. We have Baker Mayfield, Aaron Rodgers, Drew Brees, Sam Darnold and Andy Dalton. What kind of compensation should we be looking for? A second round pick? an up and coming WR?

Roster

QBS: Brees, Dalton, Darnold, Mayfield and Rodgers
RBS: Mccaffrey, Conner, Henry and Yeldon
WRS: Golladay, Woods, Westbrook, Crowder, Funchess, Gabriel, Taylor, Watson and Hamilton
TES: Howard, Henry and Ebron
DES: Donald, Mack, Bennett, Cox and Atkins
LBS: Telvin Smith (out for year), Lee, Oluokun, Davis, Brown and Hamilton
CBS/S: Bates, Simmons and Thomas

Any help would be appreciated thanks

I'd shoot for a late 2020 1st.

A 2nd doesn’t do it for me here. I like the idea of a 2020 1st.

Some other options: pair brees with a WR for a nice upgrade. Pair brees with a TE for Kelce or Kittle and something small.

Thanks for the advice- so far the league is offering only 3rd rounders or a 1 for 1 swap with Allen Robinson. I’m sure once the rookie draft starts this weekend the offers will get better

I'd happily sell Brees for Robinson, even more so given your QB depth and need at WR.

Honestly, Robinson is the best that you'll get. You won't get a 2020 1st. Brees, unlike Brady, has started to show signs of aging. He's a borderline QB1 (like Brady), and he might only have one or two years left there. You're not realistically going to get a 1st.

I'd rather "undersell" for someone like Robinson than hold on in hopes of an offer (e.g., a 2020 1st) that will almost assuredly never come. Or just plan to keep him until he retires.

Thanks- at this point I think we either keep him or trade him for Robinson.
