Antonio Brown

Postby Peach » Tue Oct 16, 2018 1:48 am

Is now the time to sell? Connection with Ben doesn’t look like it has in the past. Juju hoovering up targets. Who knows what happens if Bell returns. Got a lucky last-minute TD at weekend on a pick play - take that out and he is disappointing.

He’s an obvious sell for a non-contender but is he worth a sell even if you are contending? And what would you be looking for if so? Would someone in the Cooks/ARob tier and a contender’s 1st do it?

I think you mean he would have had a disappointing week, but I don't think it makes much sense to sell him if you're a contender. He's had at least 15 points every week this season and is the #5 ranked WR right now. You're much better having AB.
If you can't leave at least a 20% tip, you can't afford to eat out.

Now is not the time to sell unless you are rebuilding. Hes still producing whether it comes on the last play or not (hes probably had many times hes scored late in the game).

I'd still want a lot for him in a rebuild. He could put a contender over the top

The connection with Ben hasn't been as good yet he's still a top 5 scoring WR. Seems to me like there's room for improvement.

You don't trade AB unless you can get a boat load for him. He does nothing but produce and is never injured

I wouldn't sell Brown if I was contending. You're unlikely to get back anything close to the high floor and upside he has due to his age. The time to really sell him was a few years ago. Now, you're better off riding everything out.

sold him and 1.10 early last season for DJ and Martavius Bryant (right after the Vikings game when his hype was soaring). The argument could be made pretty easily that I got the short end of the stick considering DJ hasn't lived up to expectations but I think the idea was right. I wanted to sell him before the age factor and big ben retiring factor came into play. As others have said if I owned him now I probably wouldn't sell, not because I don't think regression is coming in the next few years but because I don't think you would get good value.

He is retiring on my roster where I have him, unless some contender ponies up an overpay. He has underperformed (to his expectations) and is still scoring fairly strong. Once he has a couple of those 12/150/2 games in a row, we will see threads pop up about how he is still #1.

Antonio Brown’s feets

Postby ToddFarthouse » Wed Aug 07, 2019 5:41 pm

Figure this is becoming a big enough topic that it needs it’s own thread.

I for one am worried that this could be a problem that runs into the season.

...how long does frost bite take to heal?

Serious question.

This is not frost bite.

Actual Frost bite may not ever heal. It can cause nerve damage.

He just needs to let his feet heal. Then slowly toughen up the new baby skin

This doesn't look like true frost bite, if that happens those nerves are dead and never coming back and it typically happens at the outer edges with the least warm blood flow. Toes and the heal. His was the soles of his feet. He's got frost-burn. Depends on how deep the burn went, definitely KOed the first couple layers of skin. Think of him doing hot coal walking without being adequately prepared and getting 2nd degree burns on the his feet. That's the equivalent to what he's dealing with, also the equivalent of the stupidity.

Raiders say they have no timetable to hiss return. Week 1 is a month away. His body needs to regrow that skin, and then probably a week for it to be not too tender and sore to athletically run on. I would guess he'd be ready in 3 weeks from when that pic was taken? I'm no medical person though.

And source: Minnesotan who does winter backpacking trips. Frostbite and even frostburn is no joke and can be fatal like hypothermia when you can't get to help.
