Giants signed former Boston College LB Mark Herzlich.
It's a solid fit for the cancer survivor. Herzlich's explosion and burst were lacking in his first year back, and several medical concerns expedited his fall out of April's draft. He is a natural SAM linebacker, however, and the Giants have a need there with free agent Keith Bulluck likely on his way out. Also familiar with several members of the New York coaching staff, Herzlich will get a fair shot to win a spot on the 53-man roster.

I'm stoked about this deal, more so on non-fantasy relevance but i think this kid will be great for the team and locker room. He seem's to be an ideal SAM backer but i could see him with a season on special teams duty be able to heal and get back to his 2008 production where he was heralded as a top round pick until the cancer. I think he has the potential to be another Urlacher!!! quote me now! But this is more likely in the next 2-3 years!
