Sleeper DTs

Postby Team Canada » Wed Jul 20, 2011 11:07 pm

Ok I am in a start up that requires you to start a DT. I have Ngata as my only DT and there seems to be no rankings that go beyond top 10 for DT... Are there any DTs that might go under the radar and may be a nice pickup that could start during Ngata's bye?? There has to be someone worth rostering not in the following list right??

Suh, Ndamukong DET DT
Fairley, Nick DET DT
Ngata, Haloti BAL DT
Williams, Kyle BUF DT
Babineaux, Jonathan ATL DT
Ratliff, Jay DAL DT
Raji, B.J. GBP DT
McCoy, Gerald TBB DT
Rubin, Ahtyba CLE DT
Wilfork, Vince NEP DT
Garay, Antonio SDC DT
Ellis, Sedrick NOS DT
Kelly, Tommy OAK DT
Seymour, Richard OAK DT

I would look at the matchups for the week Nata is on his bye instead of trying to find a sleeper. Look for a week O-Line or a QB who's taking alot of sacks and see if the DT is available.
QB : Lawrence, Tua, White
RB : Barkley, Connor, Pacheco, Fournette, Foreman, Breida, Edmonds
WR : Meyers, Sutton, Cooks, Chark, Z. Jones, T. Marshall, T. Burks, J. Williams, J. Dotson, J. Metchie
TE: Hock, Njoku, McBride, Otton
DE : Lawrence, Ngakoue, Hubbard, Landry (I Guess)
LB : Warner, Spillane, Luvu, K. White, Lloyd, Ellis,
CB : Davis, Gardner, Henderson
S: Delpit, Curl, Scott

Kyle Williams has had 2 productive seasons and would be a decent pick...plus they added to the DL in Buffalo with Dareus and that could only help! Personally, I like McCoy ...he won't be the Nose Guard this season and will have more opportunities to make plays. The following is from Rotoworld....

>>>McCoy split time between "nose" and "under tackle" as a rookie, probably because Brian Price was available so little. McCoy will now focus on shooting gaps at the more pass rusher-friendly position. McCoy played better in his first season than his numbers indicate, and we expect the stats to catch up this year. <<<

Kyle Williams is a nice suggestion, but already on his list.

How about Barry Coefield NYG or Jason Jones TEN
Someone on the Bears will likely step up

What about gerald McCoy TB? Marcel Dareus Buf? Tony Brown Titans?

As far as rankings.... Google fantasy football IDP rankings. I have done that and have found several nice Free sites. Fantasy football oasis is one.

I would suggest waiting until the regular season, and keep an eye on the waiver wire. No need to pick his backup just yet, though it is a good idea to have a backup now in case your starter gets injured in the preseason and you need to scramble.... but I have a feeling some player that none of us have thought of will be a decent play on Ngata's bye week. Just keep your eyes open.
