Rookie Draft Check

Postby srlarson » Wed Jun 26, 2019 4:56 am

With my team aging and losing a few guys this year....looking at draft to restock....but checking my approach. Lost Baldwin, Sanders (still hurt), Lynch, AP (last leg)....traded for Bell......was in the top last year until NO slide at year end and fell to 5th.....So I know I need young RB's...and only top WR I like is AJ Brown, but hate his location..... @ 1.01 taking Jacobs(purely a Volume play).....at 1.06 if one of the 2 top TE's there maybe...otherwise RB's all the way through. 1.01 Jacobs, 1.06 (sanders, Montgomery, or Henderson), 2.06 thinking Hill (balt)....then best RB avail.......

Anyone really excited by one of the WR's?

At the 1.06 range: I'm not a fan of Metcalf, but he will have every chance for an immediate impact this season. Samuel and Campbell should both have a shot at immediate impact, as well as M. Brown (if he gets healthy).

I would draft Jacobs first sure at 1.01

Then I imagine the draft may go like this (1.02-1.04 interchangeable)

1.02 Montegomery
1.03 Sanders
1.04 Harry
1.05 DK
Leaving you with the potential chance to draft AJ Brown, Parris Campbell, Deebo Samuel, Noah Fant, TJ Hockenson

I would probably grab AJ Brown here unless Mont, Sanders, Nkeal fall to you. If you don’t like that, go Parris Campbell

better yet. see what it would take to move from 1.06 to 1.03 and try to grab 2 RBs to inject some youth into there.

trading probably not going to happen.....the 2,3,and 5 have already been traded...so guys not wanting out....

only WR's I would consider at 6 would be AJ brown, and maybe reach on Campbell.......but hate AJ's location.... cambell's opportunity is what is interesting.....

My Te's are old....but if I miss on one of the two....another old one, D Walker, I can get with my last pick and kick the problem down the road...just go w 3 old guys....

Have always hated NE Rb's....so want to stay clear of that mess....I'll stick w Edleman as my only Patriot......

I like your thought process.

Except I would not go TE @1.6. Stick w going w a Rb (Monty, Sanders, Henderson or P Campbell wr for me.)

2nd Rd has been a goood spot to get Wr’s but Hill & Singletary is where I would go if they r there. Maybe try to get back in there to get Hardman or Butler.

Dawson Knox late could be a nice flyer to go after for Te.

Good luck!

If trading up isn’t an option, what about trading back?

I am interested in these results posted, I am not that excited about the WR's, but I also have good depth at that position. nobody stands out talent wise at WR or RB to me. I am sitting at 1.05 and with my team makeup I am thinking of TJ or reaching for Kyler. I love drafting talent and waiting, the area always rises to the top. otherwise you take a WR with good opportunity with he intention of trading him once he hits to get into next years draft.

Im in a very similar position as you. Im sitting on picks 3 and 6 in this draft.

I am HATING my options available at 6 and am trying to either move up into the top 4 or back into the 9-10 range during the draft.

Tier drop as it stands is at pick 5. Top 4 are pretty much set with Jacobs, Monty, Harry and Sanders. I personally will be taking Monty then Sanders @ 3.

Picks 5-12 are pretty much the same and come down to preference. For those of you saying not to take Henderson at 1.06, I will say that if I end up stuck with that pick there is a good chance I take him with that pick instead of a WR flyer. This WR class dosnt get me excited at all and I would rather have a potential Kamara in Henderson then a Doctson, Treadwell, Coleman in the WR's available.
