And his scoring is going to come back down to a more "normal" level, decreasing the gap between him and the rest of the QBs and his positional advantage. He's still the best bet to be #1 and will consistently be a top 5 QB each year, but he's not going to be completely in a class by himself year after year.

2. I agree Mahomes has just seen one of the best performances on his career. Not saying he will ever meet those numbers again, but it's unlikely. Teams will figure out how to defend that offense (Pats had a good scheme everyone will watch) and he might not even have Tyreek going forward. 5,000 and 50 is just hard to do. Even Arob, Peyton, Brees, and Brady had trouble repeating it.

No I don't think he can improve on 5,000 yards and 50 TDs.

He is rightfully the #1 QB and I expect him to be elite going forward, but he's going to be "regular elite" 4,500 yards and 30-35 TDs. He's not going to have a top 3 statistical season ever every year of his career.

So yes while he will improve as a player, he will not improve his stat line, which is all that matters for us in the fantasy world.

I think we would agree that he won't have 5000 yards and 50 TD every year. I think it's silly to guarantee he will never top it considering he did it at 23. Not sure why anyone would want to argue that.

I did just look up his startup ADP; 25 overall, which is higher than I expected, but I think that's indicative of fair value for him given that he outscored the QB2 in 4pt TD leagues by 5PPG. He outscored the average of the top 12 QBs by 6 point and the top 24 QBs by 8.5 PPG. For contrast he outscored the 2017 QB1 by 5 PPG as well. That's a bigger advantage than we're used to in 1QB leagues, which was my bigger point. Appears the community has appropriately adjusted though.

Is it possible, sure. Is it likely, absolutely not. KC has an absolute perfect storm and Mahomes took advantage. Your not accounting for the fact that their payroll and the pieces they can put around Mahomes moving forward are going to drastically change. It’s pretty unlikely that payroll wise they’re going to hit grand slams they did on production vs cap hit with Hill, Hunt, and Kelce, especially when Mahomes is likely going to set the NFL contract record.

Whatever happens with Mahomes on if he does 5000&50 again, Kamara is still the better investment long term.

Think this is a great deal. Mahomes is terrific, no doubt. There is a lot going on in KC. The schedule doesn't look steller and teams will adjust, probably a lot of time spent on KC film in the off-season. Agree with Pac_Eddy, take the trade and work on a solid back-up.
