Gurley or Aaron Jones/Miles Sanders?

Postby DoggieOG » Fri Jun 14, 2019 6:57 pm

I have a championship caliber team (barely lost the finals last year) and have been offered Todd Gurley/Malcolm Brown for (my) Aaron Jones/Miles Sanders

Here is the rest of my team:

QB: D.Watson
RB: S. Barkley
RB: J. Jacobs
WR: Hopkins
WR: Julio
WR: Lockett
TE: Engram
FLX: (Gurley or Aaron Jones)
FLX: (Miles Sanders or Jared Cook)

Usually I am able to make quick decisions in trades, but this one feels like a bit much (giving Jones + Sanders) given Gurley's unknown future with his knee issue.

Appreciate any thoughts you guys are willing to share.

Thanks guys

Just a reminder; Gurley wouldn't of helped you win that championship last year since he didn't play week 16. There's a good chance he may sit out week 16 this year as well if the Rams make the playoffs. It's just something to think about.

^ great point. I for one should know that. Gurley stung me in both of the past 2 year's finals. In 2017 he put up ridiculous numbers beating me in a couple of finals. Then last year he was pretty much MIA causing me to lose another one. The offer is tempting, because not many RB can match his skill set. I just don't know if it's worth both Sanders and Jones though since none of us really know the deal with his knee

Well I pulled the trigger. Given the status of my team (a DFWC one at that) I just couldn't pass on adding Gurley. I just hope he's healthy come FF playoffs this year.

Thanks to everyone who chimed in. Appreciate the thoughts

I offered a guy in my league My Gurley for his Kerryon and Sanders and he said no. He probably wouldn’t take Gurley if I tried to give him though, he’s a pessimist on the knee

That's if the Rams clinch in time. Home field and a bye is rarely locked up after week 15. Also, if Gurley doesn't play, Brown will get a boatload of touches, who he also has.

@OP. There are more concerns/questions about Sanders and Jones than Gurley. Don't let this off season echo chamber make you turn down an elite and generational type back in Gurley for guys like Sanders and Jones. As a contender, you take keep Gurley/Brown.

Thanks for the added confirmation guys. I thought on it long and hard before pulling the trigger. Along with all the endless negative chatter about Gurley this off season, I was also guilty like many of us are of contracting a bit of Rookie fever from all the highlights and game tape I watched going into the draft.

Fortunately for me, I made a few trades this off-season that netted me Sanders+ for free basically. So, I almost had to the take the risk on upgrading him to Gurley. Again, thanks for sharing your thoughts. That's what I love about this forum.. it gives you an opportunity to take in other points of view before making a big decision.
