Amari Cooper: Stud WR1 or Talented WR2

Postby gman6199 » Fri Jun 07, 2019 5:59 pm

I have an opportunity to trade AJ Green for Cooper.
I do like Cooper’s age but Is Cooper a stud WR1 or just a talented WR2. When Cooper is o. He is very good but the inconsistency of his game is what spooks me. Thoughts and opinions????

I think Cooper is an upside wr2. He is way too inconsistent. If you are a contender, this is easily Green. Rebuild/retool, Cooper and a pick if you are moving Green for him.

I think In Dallas he’s a WR 1 they have Zeke to keep the defense honest and not other top end weapons. I’d ask for like a second back, if he won’t I’d probably still take the deal. I’d like to think if Cooper balls you won’t be able to get that deal again.

How about low end WR1? Take Cooper over AJG for sure. 6 years younger is a big difference and probably similar production this year.

^this, although I think Green has a career year if he stays healthy.

THE WR1, 3 weeks a season. WR3 the rest of the time.

it's difficult to believe that someone with his age/production profile to date isn't a stud wr1 level talent but I think we'll know by week 6.

If this is straight up you should definitely take Cooper. Green hasn't had a high WR1 season since 2015, and he turns 31 in July. Even if you don't like Cooper, I'd be willing to bet that you can flip him for someone better than Green at some point this season.

Honest question, who I’m their right mind is adding on to the Cooper side for Green? Cooper is the more inconsistent of the two, but Green can’t say healthy and is 6 years older.

Was going to chime in with something similar. Green is falling to the 4th and 5th round in some of my startup drafts; while Cooper is almost always gone by the 3rd.

I'd make that deal, and be content with a slight downgrade at WR, for a younger piece that could still develop.
