I don't think he's a better prospect than Curtis Samuel was, but that's just me.

Samuel is better, imho. But his landing spot in Carolina was far worse. Hence Parris > Samuel.

Think this dude could get 65+ catches for about 750 yards and 3-5 TDs. That's what I think is kinda realistic for this dude. Would garner around 165 points in PPR.

This Tavon Austin usage talk, while not surprising, puts a black cloud over Campbell for me. I'm sure he'll do some nice things for the Colts in real life by being a wild card, creating some confusion, getting some first downs & opening up chances for others.

But these guys rarely become solid fantasy football starters. The best one I can think of (WR who's a gadget player like Tavon Austin) would be Percy Harvin.
Not all that counts can be counted. Not all that can be counted counts.

I guess it depends on the offense & volume Campbell gets - if the plan is to start him off similar to Tavon Austin. If his rookie year is similar to Austins 2015 - then he is starting off as a WR3 with 175-200 points. Then if he continues to develop as a WR (like Tyreek Hill did) then WR2 production could be next.

However it is a moot point if the comparison is completely inaccurate from a usage type perspective.

I agree with this. What happened with Tavon Austin is a worst case scenario for a highly drafted, raw, hyper-athletic WR. Tyreek Hill is obviously the ceiling, so that also should not be expected at all.

Percy Harvin is a more realistic ceiling. Cordarelle Patterson’s start to his career was promising, so if Campbell can start out like that but then actually have some developmental coaching, could turn into a real asset. But what Patterson has become is a likely floor for Campbell, IMO.

Campbell hands are so way better than Austin or Patterson's. As is his route running, limited as it is.

Don't know if I agree but I am sure Campbell owners would be thrilled if he is. :)

I agree that the Colts likely have a better plan for Parris than the Rams did for Tavon. But, I still expect him to be used similarly until he shows he can run more routes in the tree.

I agree. They will start with what he knows, but then will expand, unlike the Rams who were so damn predictable with everything.

I’ve found myself trading up to get Campbell. Most long term upside of the 1st round WRs because of Luck.

Off to Parris. Oui oui

Postby Huh » Sat Aug 31, 2019 5:53 pm

I see people jumping off the colts bandwagon like crazy but am I nuts in thinking that Parris Campbell could go off and have a very productive season out of the slot. He’s electric. I have a feeling he’s going to be the best rookie wr and it won’t be particularly close.

Not crazy at all. Kid is lightning fast too.

I figured he was going to have a tough rookie season luck or no luck. But long term why not.

Its not like colts arent going to be drafting very high now and have a shot at tua.

Can you imagine? 1st overall manning. 1st overall luck. 1st overall tua.

Back to back to back
QB - DWatson(HOU)Minshew(JAX)Darnold(NYJ)
RB -NChubb(CLE)DHenry(TEN)JTaylor(IND)Gurley(ATL)
WR -DHopkins(ARI)ACooper(DAL)CGodwin(TB)OBJ(CLE)
TE - HHenry(SD)DGoeddart(PHI)
K - Zurlien(LAR)Crosby(GB)
Def - ARI DAL
[rookie] Haskins(WAS)DSwift(DET)Jefferson(MIN)MHardman(KC)
7th pick in 2021

Rosters must always be 3qbs 4wrs 4rbs 2tes 2kickers 2dst and protected players don't take up a roster spot, but are only for rookie/2nd-year players that were drafted
